The original Cave Story has (and will always be) free. Google around and you can locate it pretty easily. I'm not sure what this "re-release" includes that's so much different.
Additionally, last I saw, the 3D version was extremely lackluster (spatially-speaking) in comparison to the higher-resolution digitally brushed 2D version -- which was discontinued.
