It's not out of the realm of possibility though, if the SOPA or Protect IP legislation passes. This site could get blocked easily because of people who don't follow the rules and post links to illegally obtained files or software.
For example, people who keep ripping models or textures from commercial games, despite us deleting their posts and/or yelling at them to stop. Simply because they refuse to follow the website's rules, the whole website could get shut down under the new laws because we're not "trying hard enough to stop it"...
I pray that the legislation doesn't get passed by these ill-informed politicians who don't even understand what a message board is, but are looking to pass laws that may outright high five them because of the "potential for pirating"... Over 90% of the internet has the "potential for pirating" simply because of how it's all user driven.
This legislation seems to me to be the biggest attempt at infringing on our rights as Americans ever to cross the docket of Washington's agenda, and there will be almost no website untouched by its reach. Freedom of Speech(Youtube/Twitter/Any public message board, even email would be affected), Freedom of Expression(Youtube/Facebook/MySpace/Twitter), Right to Assembly(albeit virtual when done through the internet, but it's still assembling), Freedom of Information(Wikipedia/Internet News/Any website where you can learn things that big corporations may not want you to learn, and goodbye open source projects like Blender or Gimp, Adobe and Autodesk don't like you offering free alternatives to their expensive software...), the list goes on...
