To be honest, no Dragon Ball Z game that has an arcade feel (I.e. one fighter vs. one fighter at a time) has appealed to me, because I fail at that type of genre.
That's why I prefer adventure type games, because I don't necessarily have to fight at the same level as the opponent (or opponents). I like to feel like the hero, unmatched in skill and power.
ZEQ2-Lite is an exception, because anything can happen in a battle between two or more fighters. You never can stay in the lead, it gives you the adrenaline you need to react to unexpected events. That's what I would consider an exciting battle.

I have played bt1 and 2 but sadly only the gfx appealed to me,da gameplay was "ehhh"
the games I found to be my favorite is still mugen even before and after playing console games...
why is that?because you truly need heavy skill to beat many characters,the moves of the characters like ko ones actually look very intense and even make you feel like that move was very powerful
And yes the best part is no character has equal power,you cannot use chaotsu to beat gokussj5
and Brolly in most mugen games is insanely strong and a pure bull

edit-also there is no difficulty in mugen easy1 and hard8 is literally the same
