I was creating a prototype caped Piccolo to get use to using misfit 3D but I ran into a problem.

After I assigned material textures and applied them to the vertex groups I had a textured head. I saved and tried the character out in the game but its head was untextured. The images were in PNG so I tried JPEG but still no luck. How would I texture head.MD3 and get it working in game?

and just curious about these two things.

How do I get glow effect like Kaioken or Super Saiyan (not the aura, the glow)

Can I turn auratrail off for a certain character? "showAuraTrail off" or something?

Thanks Very Happy

Check the model name in Misfit. Make sure your .skin file uses the same name for that model piece. Also make sure the shader you are using in this .skin file actually exists. Check the console for yellow (warning) messages. You may need to scroll up a bit.

Glow? There are no built-in mechanisms for glow that I am aware of right now. You can change the shading bands and aura light that's used, however, to create the impression of different effects or shading positions.

Check tierDefault.cfg for a listing of all supported keywords and their default values.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Smile

=====edit======

The model is head.MD3

I changed it to headedit.MD3 to make changes, saved, and renamed it to head.MD3.

The skin files in tier1 say default, default_percent10, and so on.

What skin file are you referring to?

And the glow effect is that color reflection on the character. Like in Kaioken Goku has red light reflecting off of himself. In Super Saiyan its yellow light.

I did not mean for you to look at the file name. I was referring to the mesh group name in Misfit (Example 1). You can access this by pressing Ctrl+G and using the dropdown box. These identify the regions to apply a Quake 3 shader to. You'll then use the skin file (Example 2) to assign the mesh group to a shader name. After that, it's just a matter of making sure that the shader entries exist (Example 3) under those names. Also make sure the texture paths and keywords are as you want them.

That's really the texture for those tiers in addition to cel shades. What makes Goku so red while in Kaioken is because there is a separate set of red-tinted textures made for the Kaioken tier. Same with Super Saiyan, it has modified textures alongside a cel shader to achieve that effect.
