if we move the game to unity engine won't that make the game mobile and make it be in the site instead of downloading it through SVN or make it in the home page in unity web player

Yes, if ZEQ2 development continues on the Unity engine, a web-based player is feasible. This would alleviate problems for those who have difficulties, for whatever reason, with the SVN distribution method. However, I'd assume that downloading would still be the preferred option, of course.

Actually, I'm not so sure it would lag the browser. It's not like I have ANY idea about the final size of the game, though. But in any case, we could remove some graphics features or even maps/characters to make it lag less, if necessary.

Then again, I'm not even sure the web player is going to be used for anything other than tech demos(which is what we're using it for now).

Never talked about gameplay features or settings! I was talking about things like dynamic realtime shadows, anti-aliasing, and other post-process things. Or removing some maps/characters. Anyway, I am just throwing out ideas here.

EDIT: In theory, the game should NOT lag the browser once it's loaded.

you know that in every unity game you can make the screen in the window or full screen just saying and another thing buffering would be faster and by removing the Svn {if it ever happens which I hope not to happen }

we can get more stuff in the game if we move it to unity for instance we can have a big map with everything in it like a map for the Whole Dragon Ball Z universe or another one for the whole Earth and another one for the other planets which we can make according to the preferences of the community and the developer of the game it self so to point it all out we need to work hard on it and that`s all and we need anyone who would contribute to help us bring further blossoming news to the site
Sorry for the long post Razz

ZEQ2 is open source like ZEQ2-Lite?

Once there's an actual established build, it will be, yes. Currently, there's just a collection of assets and loose framework coding/plans.

After I'm back in town again at the end of the month and through with my current venture, I'll certainly look into seeing where the existing developers are and what needs to be done next.

Actually, we can just map the important locations and use dynamic terrain generation for the rest, so we don't have to map a whole planet.

While wholly feasible, the initial arrangement will probably be to still use a map/scene oriented setup so the concept of segment/world servers can still function on a whole.
