If you're already buying gaming PC then why don't you buy normal PC?

it's not like you're play fish or whatever you play in bus while going to school...

For that money you can get 10 times stronger normal PC

Will you be playing The Witcher 2, Crysis 3 and Metro 2033 while you're going to school or whatever?

If the answer is no, then what's the point? You could buy a better desktop PC for gaming and buy a cheap laptop for everything else, and it'd probably be quite cheaper.

I do 3D video compositing, video effect etc. Then Ill maybe play a few hardcore games like Left 4 Dead 2, Just case 2 etc.. But it's only for when I'm doing hardcore video production, and college etc.. From the looks of what I'm getting, no other specifications can really top it.

@Dokumas, I don't want a desktop, otherwise I'd just get it Smile

I don't think you need an alienware for this, I'd rather buy a desktop for gaming then, you don't need an bloppity blip bloop PC if you aren't even going to use half of it's capability.

Explain to me how, which I listed isn't using much-a lot of it's capability? Current gen games require much specifications, even in advance video compositing, rendering with vray, 3ds max etc. An alienware in my opinion will do the job.

I don't want a desktop, I don't really have anywhere to put it, plus it's not my style anymore. Laptops are more better for me, more mobile as well.

Keep in mind that mobile CPUs have one-third less clock speed/cycles compared to their desktop counterparts. Although laptops have increased immensely in capabilities over the years to catch up with desktops, the only way you'll get close to matching one performance-wise is using desktop-class hardware -- in which case you have a barely mobile, low battery life machine that could be bested in a desktop in terms of both price and performance.

If you are truly going into laptop domain for overall usability, grab an ultrabook of some sort so you still maintain mobility, low heat, and battery life. Regardless of what you decide to do, wait until June. From reading, Intels/AMDs new generations comes out then. That means that the months leading up (and afterwards) will be filled with ridiculous deals trying to get rid of older, but still plenty capable, stock.

That's true.

To be honest, I'm getting pretty good specifications for 1500. I cannot wait til June to start making money, in order to make money you have to spend. Already made the decision.

$1500? That's a ludicrous price for any computer. The highest end ultrabooks are in the $1000 range, but you could get similar hardware in the $500-700 area if you tried (especially with the June changes). Alternately, you could build a near top of the line I7 desktop for under $700-800 also that would double the performance and halve the cost.
