it is based on android, it runs ics
it has got a quad-core tegra 3 processor (1.5 ghz ? )
it has wifi, 8 gb space, usb, hdmi, lan, you get a wireless controller, other wifi controllers work too like logitech or PlayStation 3 anyway and you can add a usb hdd for more space
all games are for free because they think you have to try a game before you buy it
anyway here are some pictures and what do you guys think?
it's going to get released on 4 june, my birthday so I'm going to buy it
oh and by the way it is very small

You can buy it from everywhere, it has worldwide shipping.
Well the games aren't that good since it is android, there are android games, 2D games, 3D games, indie games, addicting games, unity games, unreal engine games
UNITY... ZEQ2 could be ported to this new console...
Zeth , would it be possible to ZEQ2 on PC and on Ouya?both have an internet connection, both support unity, maybe the controls have to optimized for the gamepad but it would be cool to see... oh and the device, ouya is open source, you can open it, hack it, and they also have a free development kit and big companies and game making beginners are welcome to submit games to the ouya store, so ZEQ2 on ouya doesn't sound like a bad idea, Zeth if you read this I hope you consider it
here are all currently availible games for ouya

I don't really get the point of this console: weak hardware, android, a new Ouya every year... why not just buy a phone? I might be wrong though.
By the way there are rumors saying that Google is about to show an Android console. This will be... curious.

The games aren't great (at the moment) primarily because when you make an application for Android, you want to make it to as WIDE an audience as possible. That usually involves undercutting capabilities in favor of compatibility on older hardware. Since the Ouya has fixed hardware (console benefit), developers can target games for that platform if they choose to do so -- thereby producing higher quality titles.
UNITY... ZEQ2 could be ported to this new console...

Definitely possible from a design/hardware standpoint with a few minor tweaks, but as far as legality goes... well, lets just say that using the official Ouya Store might be problematic for anything dealing with copyright infringing content.

It's cheaper than a similarly spec'd phone and it's built as a gaming device. Phones (presently) have no proper controller input in comparison. Touchscreen simply doesn't cut it if you are trying to play any kind of game that requires multiple action coordination like a first person shooter in which you need to mouse look, jump, shoot, use abilities, etc.
Consider that this also can handle multiplayer split-screen and has double-use as a streaming media unit with basic computer functionality of any kind (music/video player, file/web browser, server, etc.) There are streaming media boxes that exist that have a LOT less hardware capability at similar prices that the Ouya can instantly compete with commercially.
If history has taught you nothing, take from it that the hardware on a gaming console is irrelevant in comparison to the actual games produced. There's plenty of market for RPGs, fighter games, shooters, top-down adventure games, survival horror, etc. that could all run fine on this. Graphics really don't mean a slam outside of immersive titles that are more movie than substance. The intrinsic gamer will understand that challenge/gameplay drive us; regardless of that, it should be able to out-spec PlayStation 2 quality setups with proper design given the shader model available.
By the way there are rumors saying that Google is about to show an Android console. This will be... curious.
Not entirely unlikely. There are a slew of portable android devices that hook up to TVs through hdmi sticks. The Game Stick is actually one of the competition to the Ouya, but there have been plenty of Chinese-type knockoffs for a while now to bring Android into a scope like this.

Yeah right connect your phone to your tv via hdmi and play videos and games in 1080p. good luck, its going to be so comfortable
Oh and by the way a phone with the specifications of ouya (quad-core tegra 3) are around 200$ - 400$ or even more, and for 99$ ouya is the worlds cheapest quality console.
Zeth, even if ZEQ2 is free and non-profit does it still have issues with funimation or akira toriyama copyrights?

There's always the chance, yes. More exposure means more possibility of litigation.

You should make a fake email, and invent a fake non-profit Dragon Ball Z project and present it to the owners of Dragon Ball Z, if they give you permission to release it, maybe you will be later allowed to release ZEQ2.

according to specifications it has more hardware power at its disposal than the PlayStation 2 , and mind you PlayStation 2 had granturismo 4 , a fully HD detailed game run at 30fps on it , no doubt that game was fully optimized and one of the only 3 HD titles on the PlayStation 2
