I wondering..if ZEQ2 Lite based on Quake3 engine, than why can't we use the next..Quake 4 engine?
And make a ZEQ3 Lite.. :3
Course not now because the 2 not finished but..
it's just a idea if the team make a 3 good start the Quake 4 engine with Single and Multi Player support..

What advantage would using the Quake 4 engine give? I can't think of any since the only feature benefits other than hardware shader support and skeletal animation, which are both features being worked on for ZEQ2Lite, would some slightly more advanced physics and collision support.
I can say a number of disadvantages of using the Quake 4 engine for any potential future projects. It's not open source yet and there doesn't seem to be any plans to make it opensource, so we wouldn't be able to introduce and new engine level features or make it a standalone game. Further more it would mean learning an entirely new codebase and recoding all the gameplay features we've already got that are needed.
Pretty soon our Quake 3 based engine will be as "up to date" as the version of id Tech 4 which Quake 4 runs on with the potential of making it even more advanced than that.
When we say we're using the Quake 3 engine we don't mean the engine which people played on 10 years ago. There's been so many enhancements and improvements that it's a plenty capable engine even by today's standards.
