“Jaco the Galactic Patrolman”
This year's 31st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump) is launching a new manga series called Ginga Patrol Jako (Galactic Patrol Jako) in the 33rd issue on July 13. As the magazine puts it, "The 'legend' of hope for the entire world returns here!!" The new series is one of three marking the 45th anniversary of the magazine.
Toriyama and manga artist Masakazu Katsura (DNA², Video Girl Ai) collaborated on a manga mini-series called Jiya in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2009. (The two creators have previously collaborated on a one-shot manga in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in 2008.) Toriyama then created a one-shot manga called "Kintoki" in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2010. Viz Media has published Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Sand Land, Cowa, Dr. Slump, and "Kintoki" manga in North America.

Because why? Toriyama forgets about half the things he created in Dragon Ball, most recent thing he forgot is whether Super Saiyan 2 0r Super Saiyan 3 has "the long hair". The reboot wouldn't measure up.
Also his new drawing style doesn't measure up to when he first drew Dragon Ball.
Glad we're getting something fresh.

It was in a recent interview about the Battle of the Lloyds movie. He also forgot Android 18's hair was blonde (he colored it purple). He once forgot he designed Brolly, and nowadays Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 is the same thing, because he draws lightning on everything. There's more I can't remember at the moment.
He's at a point where he just draws things because it looks cool, not really thinking about. I'm certain fans are more familiar with Dragon Ball than he is nowadays.
This isn't to bash him by the way, I still love Toriyama. He's getting old though.
