To be perfectly honest those pictures don't look like much to me.

its only much realism we can attain , and to be honest , all other games like Battlefield 3 , bf4 or call of duty are graphically appealing but not realistic entirely , same goes for witcher 2
crysis and its engine is better in terms of realistic lghtning , but , I find pure realism boring , that's why we have games

I don't think this looks even slightly realistic. For some reason they all look like toys to me. And I don't see ANY improvement over current games either.
I guess graphics got to the point where 1% more polygons, 1% higher textures and 1% sharper shadows are instantly real life?

that depends on the game maszek , see the second last picture , it clearly shows the art style is some where more towards realism but with a hint of artistic as well . a bit more rough than what Earth Special Forces is following . semi realistic
while with the same engine crysis 3 is the most intense looking game of this gen

To be fully honest, Crysis 3 doesn't look much better than Crysis 2 to me. Like I said, at this point poly/texture count hardly makes a difference, and it's more on the art style, I agree with you
I'm also not sure simply going for full realism will achieve anything. kind of defeats the purpose for those who play games to escape real life.
I also find that in the case of "AAA" titles, graphics often take development time away from actual gameplay. Call of Duty is a prime example, although the graphics of those games don't evolve much either lately.
Then you have pretty much every 3D Mario/Sonic game.
You could also list the Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion here, which looked very extremely very nice for it's time, but it's so bland it puts every gamer to sleep in 2 seconds. Trees, goblins, trees, goblins, trees, trees, trees, GOBLIN WARCHIEF OMIGOSH. Blah.
It was a honest surprise to see Skyrim look better AND be less boring than Oblivion, although hardcore RPG fans dislike the lack of actual depth, and I honestly have to agree even if I don't mind.
...I kind of derailed this into a rant, sorry.

well what crysis 3 has over crysis 2 is more believable models , both the surroundings , player as well as enemies , smarter ai and more perfect lightning as well as tessellation and allot more depth of field . its pretty optimized too for a title of its caliber .

exactly I agree 100%

that might be slightly incorrect , while certain areas do take time like ( models , textures and animation ) other than that a company improves upon the previous engine and that does not take much time compared to when the first cry engine was made. the main reason for lacking game play is arrogance from the companies and lack of value for fan input these days

again agreed . oblivion was an disappointment

well trust me skyrim has allot more things to do that most people say : P

I'm enjoying this :p

I play Skyrim as an action game much more than anything. I'm also not a "hardcore" RPG fan, and I do appreciate all the stuff you can do. I guess I could do with a to scale map and cities that aren't villages but actual cities, but meh
At least I see stuff other than green trees and green goblins.
...No cliffracers either. I played 20 minutes of Morrowind. That's all it took me to dislike those things with an undying passion. I was literally saying "stick around, bleed, DIE, EFIN BLEED AND DIE" while playing.

Well, one of the moderators could rename & move the second half of the thread, I suppose. Whether or not it should go to the Discussion forum is debatable, as that one is mostly for ZEQ2 Lite-related stuff if I remember correctly.
