I have no Clue what is the name of the shader that goes with it, and I don't now how to get rid of the tail. If the shader file isn't named properly, you could still have a clue on the used functions by having a glance at the skin file located in the character's tier folder. Then you would just have to search for them in the files you feel would be it.
Concerning the tail, if the tags aren't messed up in the lower model, you could simply use Misfit Model 3D's transform tool for "deleting" it.
Go in Model -> Transform Tool -> Scale, and apply zero on every axis.
Don't be afraid to visit our Discord server if you want to get deeper into this. You will likely get a quicker and better help from few individuals.

The 1.2.4 doesn't support MD3. Download the beta 1.3.8. Also, I should warn you, this program is quite unstable and strictly follows MD3's limitations. Make duplicates of your work in progress file and don't save too much.
