I thought it might be a good idea to have a 'rate the song above you' thread, for funsies ! As the title suggests, just rate the last song that's been posted, explain why, and then post one of your own.

I think I should make a few rules though:

No flaming
If you don't like a song, that's fine. That's the beauty of opinion, after all! However, insulting a person due to their music taste is not going to get you anywhere.

Elaborate your replies
Don't just say "10/10 awesome" or "1/10 it's awful", explain why you like/dislike it.

new rule:
No double/triple/etc. posting.
It's all fine and dandy to frequent the topic and rate/post songs, but don't reply to yourself over and over.

I think that's aboot it. Okay then, I'll start!

Given that I don't listen to (or even acknowledge) hearing lyrics, I'll give it a 4/10. The piano melody is overly simplified and overused. No real tempo/key changes to break things up. The guitar solo at 2:25 isn't too bad, but it suffers from the same 8 note total construction. Very little actual "MUSIC" to be found in that track -- just a mess of mouth words -- which is NOT music. Too minimalistic and repetitive.

Don't ask about the video itself unless you're into non-sequiturs, chrono-astrological theory, and other mingling complex/scientific/off-the-wall/nonsensical topics. Chorus doesn't pick up until 1:24. The point is that you (hopefully) cannot understand the speaking. In the vocal sense, they are intended for harmonics and not substance.

I also suggest we add a rule so the last person who critiqued a song cannot do the next so we don't just have a thread full of the same person replying back and forth. That means you, mrjoe94.

I'd give it a 6/10.
But that's because I'm not a fan of computer-generated music, and/or the German language.
The beat is kind of catchy, but that's it.
I don't know what this genre is called, I just call it all Dance/trance whatever music.

Most of the time I don't even call it music, because I believe you need to be able to play an instrument to make music. Every leaping lizard can use a computer program to generate some sounds and splash it together.

But that's my opinion and I'm not going to discuss it because I can't be persuaded otherwise

Very sketchy video Zeth . Also agree with you about the rule, I'll edit my inital post.

Very.. intruiging song, Japieja! It seems good, perhaps a little repetitive, and didn't really "hook" me, but then, it's not really my type of music! So, overall I'll say:

7/10, Not bad, but doesn't speak out to me personally.
