The landing.bsp file references particular shader names. I simply rewrote some of those shaders and/or altered the textures they referenced. The original landing map is unchanged as the .pk3 can easily be (re)moved to restore the original aesthetic.
I clearly mentioned that this wasn't really an earnest attempt considering that I probably didn't spend over 3-4 minutes total time on it and as such you probably shouldn't expect amazing results.
Creating an entirely different map file would require re-compilation of the map file -- something that is personally outside of my department. This would also result in a duplicate .bsp file since the changes are affectively just map "skin" and NOT something that's structural.
We could probably look into an external implementation for shader/texture path references in BSP files through a config, but implementation of such is not likely high on our priority list.
