f*impress the slim if you can get an older one
they have full PlayStation 2/ps1 emulation and also the other os option. you can play you're PlayStation 2 games on it.

you the older(first) PlayStation 3 have an emotion engine and spu2 chip installed on it so they can fully emulate PlayStation 2 via hardware. newer phats and slims do not have PlayStation 2 emulation at all.
