Videl has been released, but it's not over yet, there's plenty more to be done before version 2.5 can be released!

The following is still needed to make this character complete:


Sounds
Smoother Attack Animations
Animated Hair
Fix clipping issues with shirt
Adjust attack damage and knockback distance
Adjust range of "mêlée" attacks
Adjust damage and defense numbers in the tier file
General Bug-testing
Add the nomipmaps setting in the shader

Yeah, feet are kind of big, think I'm going to shrink them down a tad, but in the mean time, here's some shots showing the wireframe, as requested...(I think it needs a lot more work, and the poly count could probably use a bit of trimming down...)

The polycount needs a lot of trimming down.

But I'm very pleasantly surprised at this topic.

For texturing you will need to check out some uvw unwrapping tutorials.

Okay, trimmed down the polycount a bit, and adjusted the size of the feet. I'm thinking of trimming the polycount down some more, but this is what I have so far.

Personally, I liked Videl... I mostly just picked a character at random that no one else was working on(that I could see), but once I finish this character I'll probably try tackling a few more.

Not Chichi though, she started being just plain irritating to me towards the end of the series... Besides, it just wouldn't look right for her to be going toe to toe with the likes of Freeza or Cell...

The problem with the boots also is that you need to define them better, they could just as well be socks right now. They need some sharp edges and an extrusion at the place the leg enters them.

Slight update. Reduced the size of the legs a bit more, and extruded the boots out a bit to give them more definition than they had.





going to start working on the UV mapping next, then I'll start working on rigging and animating her...

Something that's been bothering me, is that you actually modeled the details on here high school logo.

Also some parts like the kneecaps still look terribly high poly. But then again maybe that'll allow for better deformation.

Yeah, I noticed that too, I'd like to trim down the polys in her knees some more, but I'm concerned I'll lose too much detail if I do it the wrong way...

As for the high school logo, it's a stopgap to remind me where everything goes until I get the textures sorted out, then it'll just be a simple cylinder.

okay, almost done setting up the UV maps, just need to add some of the fine details, and get it set up to be put in game.

I am having a bit of an issue with rigging though. For some reason, the left arm keeps getting distorted when I link it to the skeleton, but everything else on the character is linking up fine. I've fiddled with it for a bit, but can't figure out what's causing it...



Also, is it just me, or is the default Goku animation file(the one in the "extra assets" thread) set up wrong? Every time I try to use it on a character and load them up in-game, they end up sideways, and floating about 5 feet above the ground...
