I opened this thread because I want to know what do you think about Earth Special Forces.
I think that its still bad-graphic and figting, but
the beta 1.3 looks really awesome(still servers aren't avaiable *intense laughter*)
fOR NOW I THINK ZEQ2 IS BETTER , BUT I THINK Earth Special Forces 1.3 BETA WILL BE MUCH BETTER

Correction:
You think Earth Special Forces 1.3 final will be much better. Beta is already released...

okay,I see that ZEQ2 is an unpolished gem that's waiting to be made in a jewel, its already showing some pretty good results from the 1st beta,I don't remember who I think it was Zeth who said "What we need to realize is that Earth Special Forces 1.3 Final is at the end and ZEQ2 isn't even a full beta it's just a open source",it isn't the exact sentence but this is what I can remember from it,the point being that ZEQ2 looks good from a mere beginning and it already can compare graphic wise to the anime,Nappa looks like pure win if someone you had showed me the Nppa model without me knowing about ZEQ2 I would say that he's from a BT game.

Earth Special Forces NEVER released their full otential to tease theh fans , they betas the release are different. I enjoy Earth Special Forces"S melee a lot, and atleaset in Earth Special Forces the kamehameha doesn't blow at my face when I launchh it from the ground =P , Earth Special Forces got many moddb awards , the new Earth Special Forces will need at least 128mb graphik card ,256 recomemded best results on higher. ,1gb ram , 2 gb racomemded for smother game play. 2.4 ghz p4 , 2.8 ghz p4 or duelcore recomemded for smother gameplay . now you can only imagine what kind of a game it will be. and the maps are so long that you can go in 1 directon for 3 hrs and they will not end as you already saw, its for massive server multiplayer game play , and thus so far it has the best character animations

ZEQ2 was inproduction from 2002 as far is you kknow, and zeqq2lite is made from one of the lastest sofwares m where as Earth Special Forces was made by a group of uninformed participator modeler in 2000 with phetetic soft wares as you see the current Earth Special Forces it keeps on improving

Really performance demanding, mostly unpolished engine wise, takes much longer to initialize itself after loading a map, uses much higher RAM to allocate itself, not to mention they used trap calls to get those rendering effects "implemented". Which loads a different direct link library file to attain those "hacks", since the engine source code cannot be modified, thus calling external calls is the only way to get this.
Naruto: Naiteki Kensei anyone? You did knew that the first release had.. engine memory leaks, right? Hardly any people even got the change to play it (or at least start it).

Ah, by uberpathetic softwares you mean they used the Half-Life engine as base, Half-Life SDK 2.3 release as their mod SDK, Milkshape or the then current version of 3DS Max, and many more softwares that they were considered trash, right?

http://ZEQ2.com/
Read it. You read it? Good. Read it again. Observe what it says. Letter by letter. Try to memorize it. Use glasses if needed. Enable high contrast to make it more visible.
Alright, how in this long forgotten galaxy any kind of Earth's Special Forces beta version can look better and have better animations than ZEQ2? ZEQ2 is a NPR research project, total accuracy it is it's nectar. Ah, you don't mean ZEQ2-Lite, do you!? It was stated many times that almost nothing in the first release is FINAL. Well, sure. Compare ZEQ2-Lite Public Beta 1 with anything you can think of. Well, can't stop you. We are certain goals to reach and finalize, and we certainly won't compete with OUR goals just to compete with Earth's Special Forces. If you thought that, well.. welcome to the awesome and crude reality.

Recommended system requirements is NOT a good way to gauge how good a game will look and play.
the maps are so long that you can go in 1 directon for 3 hrs
You can do that in ZEQ2-lite as well if you jack down the player speed and/or player scale. Earth Special Forces doesn't offer map streaming as far as I am aware so it has the exact same size limitations that we do all things considered.
and thus so far it has the best character animations
This I will agree with; however, most of our animations were hastily done and are intended to be mostly reworked on the next release.
anyway I think ZEQ2 will never have so good graphic of new Earth Special Forces beta and animations- I'm just telling what I saw on moddb and those pictures looks amazing!
As JadenKorn was saying, SURELY you must mean ZEQ2-lite. While ZEQ2-lite and Earth Special Forces are measurably equivocal gaming forces, ZEQ2 and Earth Special Forces are not. The level of non-photorealistic rendering practices and techniques that were done in 2007 for ZEQ2 STILL blow almost anything the commercial game industry offers in realtime out of the water. We literary spent a full year reading nothing but academic research papers and implementing them in turn. Not to mention that one is a game and the other is a research project (more akin to a simulation environment).
Naruto: Naiteki Kensei anyone? You did knew that the first release had.. engine memory leaks, right? Hardly any people even got the change to play it (or at least start it).
Naruto: Naiteki Kensei certainly had some VERY talented artists, but incidentally their codebase was an absolute disaster (and they knew it). The memory usage for maps was outrageous due to texture resolutions stretching up to 2048x2048 across multiple objects and some very unoptimized GPU shader practices. As JadenKorn mentioned, this meant very long load times to get anything started up. Additionally, the network code was based on loose client message sends sprinkled around with VERY little real client-side prediction -- if you're wondering why it looks extremely choppy to you when you connect to a server with more than 300 ping, this is why.
All in all there was very very little code/pipeline optimization in effect, almost none of the sub-systems were standardized or reused, and almost all of the practices just involved brute-forcing high-end textures/shaders rather than efficiently introducing both in practical design manners (such as using tiling approaches, atlases, or combinational screen-space shaders rather than stacked instances).
This isn't to say the project was bad by any means (it looked quite nice due to the artists). What I am saying is they could have MORE than DOUBLED their performance and EASILY had the same quality on a lower-end system with some effort.
Lets just hope the new version of Earth Special Forces doesn't repeat similar mistakes.
