hello guys , just want the experinced hardware and gamer guys to post ,

okay I bought a budget efficient pc for my cousin who likes Grand Theft Auto series as heck , now he wants to play gta4 :/

here are the specifications
processor : Pentium dual core , two 3.0 ht cores , total 2mb cache

ram:2gb ddr2
vidcard : Radeon HD 4850 512 MB
hdd: 500gb
windows 7 and xp
it has a gddr3 supoort too

I think it will run fine on medium settings because the two 3.o HT cores are enough ,

total price : 341.4 dollars

Or you put lower the Anisotropic filter, Anti-aliasing and the resolution maybe.
But somethimes those things make the game run smoother, if the PC can't handle that great speed all the times.

a Grand Theft Auto 4 runs on 14 to 16 fps on a p4 3.o with 521 graphics and 2gb ram , as I have read on different forums , now I also read that a person with P4 3.0 "HT" with the same ram and graphics get around 20-26 fps ,
npw I got 2 p4 cores 3.0ht as dual core with a little more power full graphik card that those dudes and 2gb ram with all latest drivers ,
it should be on 25-30 fps at lest on maximum settings, and acordingly should be 4o-45 fps on midium ,its almost installed , I will tell when I check

That Pc is similar to my laptop. In youtube there's a video of Grand Theft Auto 4 running properly on a laptop with the same specifications as mine so, I think it will...

That's the vid.

just tested it , installed it , and I tried different settings , but dissapointing results are not so unexpected because . More to the point, I'm aware of how it handles its physics and AI, both of which are on a vastly smaller scale than those of GTA4. If you think that the dozens of AI and physics entities that are constantly on the move and interacting with each other in GTA4 are somehow less demanding on a CPU than Crysis then you are wrong , gta4 is much more than crysis
It's already been well established that Crysis is a GPU limited game, and not a CPU limited game. Same applies to FC2 and F3 to a smaller extent. GTA4, however, is an immensely CPU intensive game and has been shown as such on many, many hardware sites. , any how I got 40-42 fps on medium settings and otehr medium details , with view distance set to 2 and low shadow detail , the fact is that the gpu is not ment for gta4"s maximum ( this was on windowx xp ) on 7 I got 30-34 fps on the same settings , as you guys know 7 always gives the spare ram to the gpu , so the money saving solution is that if I get nly 1gb more ram and over clock both cores to 3.2( yes I know how to , done it before) , I can get higher fps on xp , and if little ram is left behind on vista it will acelerate my gpu , and then I can garuntee I can get 50fps on medium settings and with some low settings like 2 view distance and low shados , and probably 30-33 fps with all maxed out except for the resolution

okay here are some true pc specifications for users who wnat to play gta4 at fine-good fps
, sites tell to high specifications and theh prices go through the roof , but they aren't that high really
---------------------
38 fps
you need a
1 Pentium dual core 3.4
2 2gb ram
3 XFX GeForce 9600GT 1GB DDR3
low settings , with only some things set to medium
,has great over clocking capabilities
-------------------------
45 fps
1 Pentium dual core 3.2 ghz HT
2 2gb ram
3 XFX GeForce 9600GT 1GB DDR3
low settings , with little more things set to medium
, has great over clocking capabilities
-----------------------------
48 fps
1 Core i3 550 Processor - 3.20GHz ht
2 2gb ram
3 XFX GeForce 9600GT 1GB DDR3
low settings , with little more things set to medium
has great over clocking capabilities
----------------------------------------
NOTE: the graphics card mentioned above was not such a nice one , it was a medium bugdet one , a Radeon HD 5770 1 GB will do much much more better, this was , now if you can get 1 gb more ram , that will be even sweeter and you can get 55 fps on core i3 and on dualcore 3.2 ht also a 3.6 p4 is a bit less power full than a 3.0ht p4, so basically ht is more power full , it enables a single core to handle 2 threds , in the same way a 3.2ht dual core is more powerful than a 3.4 dual

okay guys after a lot of reserch ,
I even saw a guy play gta4 on p3 with 1gb ram and nvidia fx5500 on super low setting and all pathces installed , it was a low graphik version , and he got 10
fps , now with a Pentium 4 3.0ghz and the graphik card mentioned above with all patches and some speed hacks , that I am going to post later , you can play at 20 fps

quad cores have a slight disatvantage at most games , because most of them do not suport multicores, and gtasa will not run great unless you ahve a 2.8 ghz 4 cores , a 2.0 ghz or 2.4 ghz is use less , tell me about you're ghz , also 6gb does not help , the game will not take more than it requires , 2 gb maximum , pro street takes 300 from the ram I tested my self , gta4 takes like 1.5 gb and 2 or 3 is recomemded because of otehr processes

first of all those test sites are fails , and my point , Grand Theft Auto sa does not utilizes all 4 cores , it will only run on 1 core ,and if its a 2.2 or 2.4 you won't enjoy much
