Messed around with the aura a little bit.
One important thing is that it shows more color. Looks more intense. Getting the shape right of the spikes is something of a higher science though.

Nice attempt. I tried it myself once, but like you said, getting the right size is a puppy.
To give ZEQ2Lite a real badass aura, I think we should implant the Aura Swirl, though.

I just don't get it why are you wasting time with this minor, unneeded tweaks, that in the end adds 0.25% to the looks not the game.
You have modeling talents, but I guess you are more than infected with how people work around here, so you gave in to your laziness and went with the editing road.
What a waste..

Don't worry Denz. It's just something minor I did inbetween. I'm still working on other things.
That map texture isn't finished yet. And here's the aura for people who want to try it.
I think for the perfect aura a method of combining several different spikes for the top, side and bottom would be needed.
There's also this smaller white spike (doesn't get colored through code) mixing in with the colored ones. Which makes the white aura always look best.

I'm not sure whether you are speaking to TRL or contributors on a whole, but I'll try to address both. It's an open endeavor. There's no cohesive plan or guide for the project (especially for artists). They are free to work on whatever they wish to, really. Yes, TRL has a lot of capability to do other areas, but he does what he finds enjoyable. This is a no obligation scheme.
Besides, any progress is better than no progress.

If you ask me about the whole "contributors" thing, I don't care about progress at this point, as I only see same thing every time, same characters, only being worse, demolished by constant import/export through major variety of programs, rips and what not.
As for TRL, he is the most talented guy here and as I may see it he is afraid to channel his talents when he sees that much "bad" here, that's why I called out his laziness and playing "safe" here. This was a mere shout-out to him in a way to stop suppressing his talents. I am more for artists progress here than the game itself.
Now you may call it progress when you see "contributors" work, but bad progress isn't good progress at all.
And Niels, every time I released something "contributors" never gave in, my topics were dead two days after. I released legit, my own creations, but I guess "contributors" here won't work on something unless its an edit of a modeled, uved, textured and rigged product which they can change hue and cel shade bands and call it a "contribution". My last released model was Dodoria, if you cruise around you might see that it was released about a month ago.

looking back at that dodoria thread, I recall seeing the words "Nice Dodoria model, Denz." these words where said by TRL so why not be polite and do the same in return. simple

I completely agree with the bolded statement. TRL is an asset to this community. However, overgeneralizing the rest of community isn't really fair. There IS improvement and effort being made. It may not be at break-neck speed, but everyone has to learn or progress at their own pace. Acaryus' Tenshinhan is something I'm very much looking forward to. Gigirs50 is also making strides. Shenku is a beast, AnTy, when here, is capable, and Nello would likely be doing the same things if he had 3DSMax.
Another thing that stands out about TRL is that he took the time to work with several members to help them become better.
It's more than apparent that I am incredibly ungifted in this area, which largely removes my credibility to comment often. But which breeds more progress? Inexperience, seeking to obtain it however it can? Or experience, perched high and raining down harshness?
This is just one (unqualified) person's thoughts, but I think encouragement rather than elitism will foster more progress in the long run. If you disapprove then cut every underwhelming venture into this, then no one is left to create anything that truly hits the bar.
Just my thoughts, and they matter for squat, but there they are. And I DO appreciate your Dodoria model, even though I'm unable to utilize it properly. It's always great to see characters like that, the less noticeable ones, or perhaps not as important to the story as one of the Saiyans.
@ TRL, I like that the color of that Kaioken is much more brilliant than before. I'm also liking the all-white Aura

Thanks. I see what you mean now. It's more a question of time for me though. Believe me, I would want to be able to full time develop my artistic abilities, but I'm in a demanding college studies and together with other hobbies it's mostly because of time management that I don't really start any big projects anymore. I do want to finish my ongoing ones though. But yeah that may be the reason I settle for something small whenever I feel like it.
Also I agree with Skatter, a lot of the new guys here are also new to the field. You can't compare my or your years of experience with them. That's not fair. So talent wise I'm sure there are guys here who have the same capabilities, the difference is the experience. Diamonds in the rough you could say.

I like the once on Piccolo especially and although a better shape is of a different science , I think you should also work on a more consistent shape. By that I mean that your aura should always remain how it is around you like when transition from walking to flight or doing rolls while flying.
