Hello everyone.
Well, I'm here to tell you the new way things will happen in the project ZEQ2-Lite.
Last Friday I had a long chat with our Kami(read Zeth/@Bradless).
This conversation had by subject the reform of ZEQ2-Lite Forums. More precisely this part - "Free Forums".
What happens:
Many of us are treating the project like a game. We are more concerned with who is better, who shot me or who did this or that in server X, or Z.
Not to mention the idea of the clans. According to what many have been preaching in the forum, "clans are the bane of this project."
And why is that?
Precisely, because being in a clan, and being one of the bests at the current build, became a much greater scope than the project itself.
According to Zeth:
"I believe individuals with such dedication and passion to invest in an incomplete project should do so in a PROPER way. What point is there to simply play something when you can mold its shape? Why master a system when it will entirely change -- often by the actions of those who DO get engaged in development?
My point stands. Players Should not exist right now.
ZEQ2-lite is NOT a game.
Not yet.
There are no goals. There are no objectives.
It is Merely an unfinished and rather lackluster Dragon Ball Z sandbox with decent presentation."
So, folks. This is the main point.
We must forget the idea that we have a Dragon Ball Z game.
What we really have is a Project.
And as the focal point of a project, what we really need are people interested in one goal. In our case, making a game.
Many of you, like I said and still believe at this point, will say: "Ah, but I do not know anything about computers, I just know how to play and have no interest in this kind of thing.".
The solution to this is quite simple. You have two alternatives:
1. You can try to get interested in something related to the project. Creating maps, characters, programming, servers and setups-command lines, or just testing the new builds that are released and bring information about what needs to be done, removed or improved. Not to mention that you can also just bring new ideas, provided that they are well founded and explained so that there is a discussion on the inclusion or not in the game.
2. Continue playing the game, but do not bring any kind of pointless posts to the forums.
"Overall, I suggest we simultaneously Encourage the community to partake in development as well as to nudge Them adapts to some level of professionalism (as have MANY).
They do not have to act like it's a full-time job or anything, but at least presenting Themselves in Paragraphs clear and organized rather than just spewing memes, quoting chunks for the post, one-line or piggybacking agreements / disagreements would be astart. "
Any topic related to what happens within the servers, and which is not directly related to the project, will be deleted and the person who created the thread will be banned.
"No" ingame "discussion about who Killed with who or what nonsense Relating to attack the current gameplay. It has no weight. It means NOTHING.
Ninja is now in charge of Banning Those That's discuss that.".
Very well. Considering the above, we have to unite hereafter.
No matter what clan you are, no matter the quarrels you have with one or more persons, it will not be relevant.
We are all brothers in this community and we need, at this time, a grand unification of the clans, in favor of a greater good. What is the development not only of the game, but also the individual playing the game.
We should contribute actively and participate in a mature way. Enter more in the IRC Channel, ask and answer things you know/want to know about. We have 'N' chances of making this project grow.
Therefore, I ask the leaders of the clans to talk to their members and see who is interested to participate in the project.
Who also is not in a clan but have interest, be welcome to contribute in every way possible.
I also ask you to post here people interested in helping this project to move forward.
Once we get enough information, we will arrange a meeting, probably in IRC Channel with the leaders of the clans to hear what they have to say.
Remember, from now on, our main goal is to make this Project really be a game.
"If you REALLY love all ZEQ2-lite and you all REALLY want it to be something great That You Can enjoy competitively, then You Should Be Playing your part and help the project Trying to Fulfill excellant goals in some way."
I think that's it, folks. If I said something lacking or forgot something, please correct me or supplement it.
Thank you for understanding.

Unification of the clans... Go Printes - The Toruk Makto , the one who will save the game from skymen. *intense laughter*

Yes I agree too. Forums is meant for development purposes, not for in game or else discussions. But I will still consider it a game and play like a game hehe

Nice presentation, Printes.
Anyway, this game IS meant to be developed, but there shouldn't be any rule restricting the playing of the game. I mean, say someone had a rough day, doesn't feel up to contributing because he/she feels groggy and knows that he/she cannot be effective in participation.
They'd just want to unwind and forget the troubles of life. Don't get me wrong, I think that playing is pointless, if I play to improve my skills, but what's the harm of having a match to have a bit of fun to improve my spirits?
Don't you think "games" or "distractions" can be productive in improving your attitude? Distractions were meant to "distract" us from world troubles, not to give us something to enjoy.

It's about the forum link. The purpose of the forum is development. It's not about clans and playing the game. But sure it's available to be tested ("played").
I have suggested before that if clans wish to exist they do it on their own forums and don't pollute the right spirit of this forum here.
I have seen a decline in development these last couple of months and I wonder who is actually going to step up and not talk about it instead.

I believe I understand. Forums discuss development, gameplay discussed anywhere but here.

I don't think there is a problem in discussing gameplay
as long as it doesn't involve clans

The thing is, the forums (especially the free forums) had really shifted from being about developing to just playing an incomplete game.
The problem isn't really the discussion, it's the focus that came along with it. Anyway, onward to progress

Don't get me wrong, but you should talk here will you help or not, everything else does not really matter.
I am interested in helping but I don't know anything about creating maps, characters and everything else. I would like to learn and maybe I could help, if not I can test the builds.

You should know that testing builds for bugs is also a way of contributing. But the true growth of your content creating capabilities occurs when you at the very least attempt to try something completely new.

Well they've finally brought out the iron hammer. Meh.
I see the point very clearly about pointless posts in the forum. But I thought the free forum was supposed to be like that ; somewhat organized with random and sometimes irrelevant posts that the postee wanted to share.
I understand the problem with the clans and such.
No" ingame "discussion about who Killed with who or what nonsense Relating to attack the current gameplay. It has no weight. It means NOTHING.
Totally understandable. When I first started this game, and joined this forum, I posted a lot of junk like that too. Sometimes it was funny other times it was spam. I just hope that the moderator you have will be able to tell the difference.
Might as well remove the discussion/free forums then..

Collaborate with the game? Collaborates anyone.
Complaints, cries, ranking? Exclude the topic.
For this there are moderators here.
Simple.

Really Deserto?
That's why we have moderators?
I'm not going to say it. but ill tell you this.
The game would be much better if you guys didn't act like you need a parent to guide you to do the right thing.
You like these addon packs right?
It would be much better that instead of worrying about those, make the actual game better.
Like better codes from the community (haven't seen that yet).
Make a new mêlée system.
Instead of complaining about the bugs fix them.
Like how people have talked about the clan WS how they have been using bugs right? Well they won't be able to do that if they can't be able to do it with a new system.

WS uses only 1536.
The proposal here is clear: What to complain? Get your own forum.

So when the new Stable comes out you won't be testing (playing)?

Dude they aren't done.
They still have to fix the bugs in this stable. How do you not know that?
Why do you think there are only a few characters.

Like I said:
1 - Help anyone.
2 - Want to complain? Build your forum. Here is to collaborate.
3 - This game is going to die because of this cry.
4 - I will speak again: Want to collaborate? Here is the place.
5 - Want to complain? Create your space.

@Zay: You can't tell anyone to get out of ANY topic.
@Deserto: You could have just stopped posting.
@Everyone: These forums are a development place from now on. As Printes told you, there is a new ninja among us who will high five people if they are senselessly bickering.
"No" ingame "discussion about who Killed with who or what nonsense Relating to attack the current gameplay. It has no weight. It means NOTHING.

I agree with Printes. NL has our own forums so we are good on not posting in game stuff. At NL we are a clan that plays for fun. A group of friends with a common interest. If we get stronger on the way then that's good too. If anything changes then we can change with it.
I'm currently busy with a game called Life, but when I have time I'd like to help ZEQ2 out.
I'll see if I can get NL to test builds.
I myself am learning 3Ds max and misfit 3D. I already have some experience with blender. I'm interested in making animations for ZEQ2. I've been thinking the game needs an Emote system for some time now. It would make role playing more fun. Not just roleplaying either. If you binded keys to certain emotes you could use them instantly. Like If I knocked my enemy into the ground and I landed on him and put my hands on my hips, that would give it a kind of Dragon Ball Z type feel and at the same time be taunting to the enemy. I think emotes would be a good edition to ZEQ2.

Well said.
And also I can help ZEQ2 by mostly helping test builds, and texturing.
