okay I'm twisted here, I don't know if I should wait and get a Nexus 7 or a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I'm going on a vacation somewhere inbetween July 25-30, I don't know if I should wait for the ALMIGHTY Nexus 7 or go to my local Wal-Mart and grab a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 because their both the same price, 250 for Nexus 7 16 GB and 250 for Galaxy Tab 2 8 GB but Galaxy tab has MicroSD slot while Nexus 7 doesn't, I would really appreciate the help

Or Motorola or HTC
but samsung is pretty good considering Samsung builds all parts for the iPhone, so I would say that Samsung Android Phones are superior to all iPhones.

I never had to use a tablet, and I've never seen one last long for others, or even a touch screen phone.
So yeah, tell me why you think that?
If you want something to be portable, get a laptop.

Depends on what you want to use it for. I picked up an Archos 101 over a year ago when it first came out as my venture into tablet territory in (foolish) hopes that it would allow me more mobility to replace constraints by both desktops and laptops alike.
This is simply not what a tablet is designed to do. Tablets (and some smart phones) are really more designed for cases where portability is key. No, you aren't going to be doing anything highly productive without some form of advanced non-touchscreen input; however, if you need to go on a trip in a vehicle or want to check emails/watch some series before sleeping while lying down, it's superior to a laptop in both usability, battery life, and heat dispersion.
Consider also that some multimedia devices such as this are as small as 3.2" to 4.3" and can thus be pocket-able computers with a fully functional OS. This is useful if you want to use it as a portable music player, mobile wi-fi hotspot, or just as a storage device to ad-hoc to and transfer files while visiting friends. Not to mention that many include hdmi (or mini-hdmi) meaning you can practically have a device that can store loads of videos/games, connect to multiple bluetooth devices, and essentially be a portable media center or retro emulation/game platform on any large-display television.
Both a tablet and laptop have their own unique usage-cases. That said, until a more rapid/practical input means becomes available, you won't find [m]any programmers/designs trying to develop and retain efficient productivity on them.

I'm planning to get a Kobo Wifi E-Reader to read books, something which is painful on a laptop or pc.

Exactly. Zeth has the best answer in this whole topic. Well, the ASUS Transformer comes with a keyboard dock so it looks like a laptop with a detachable moniter So I've decided on the Galaxy Tab, Mostly because people KNOW it and have USED it and the Nexus 7 is risking it because regular people don't know how good it is until they see it, like the Galaxy Tab

No matter Zeth's answer, I would say get a laptop (a good one because overheated pcs rocks, you're legs might get burned *intense laughter*)instead of a tablet. Tablets are almost lacking in identifiable function, just as a decoration or showing off product. I mean what better stuff can it have? price is high, has INCREDIBLY lower capabilities and almost every program costs money (I am saying about Apple tablets).

Your comments are pretty moot if you are making a comparison in only a single scope -- relating to Apple products that is. All Apple hardware is well-known to be overpriced, but that doesn't change the fact that you can get a solid equivalent 1ghz ips tablet for $100-$150.
There are multiple application marketplaces on both IOS and Android besides the standard ones provided. Some of these distribute free applications of various designs just as you would find in a PC environment.
Most importantly, you won't be getting a 10-100 hour battery life on a laptop nor will you be able to put it in your pocket.
Different devices. Different purposes.

Just realize that the keyboard isn't going to change everything. I know that Android 4.* is leagues better than the 2.* versions I was using in terms of performance and such, but I'm not certain if device compatibility or productivity suites have matured yet (granted they may have).

I still recomend a laptop :p. there is a charger fir a laptop, you can keep it in your bag so you can carry it with you and if you want to put your images from your photo, laptop! I find laptops much more useful then any kind of tablet.

okay I have got a fair amount of tablet playing myself and I think iPad2 really is the gem in them all. Its really nice and handy and quite good if entertainment is your bit.
Coming in on close second is Samsung Galaxy Tab. that's quite good too.
You can also see the Motorola Zoom which I don't have any hands on but I hear good reviews.
Let me know if this helped.

Apple hardware (casing) is typically well made, but are EXTREMELY overpriced. It is wise to additionally consider that iOS imposes severe limitations that are not as prominent in terms of comparison to Android. Granted, yes, you can easily void warranty and jailbreak to get access to alternative marketplaces and distribution methods, but generally-speaking the OS itself is less exposed and requires more work-around "hacking" to get the same job done.
Did I mention the ridiculous price difference?
