Whoever that plays on Stealth's server and reads this (and that's being a total immature/crybaby): Think about what I exactly said, this will only make me more sad about what has happened to the community of ZEQ2. Maybe if the community has become a bit normal I would come back, but at this point I might take my goodbye.

You are hosting the best reliable european server ever made right now. Do it for the people who enjoy the game, you will never hear those, instead you will hear the complainers because they..well complain. But do know that your server is most appreciated and do not shut it down please. There are a lot of people who are just happy,playing but are silent, of course you only hear about the ones who want to cause trouble, it's always like that. Just ignore them and host your wonderful server

Domi is right, you will not likely hear of the people who enjoy the server, but this server is the most used, I think.

It always has the most people, that is why you get so many complaints.

I am sure those who don't cause trouble outnumber those who do cause the trouble.

That's not the true fact why I'm saying this, if you read abit of what I said. I can't do ANYTHING about the flamers/disrespecters and that kind of stuff. Stealth (was, now he doesn't care anymore) and me were waiting for server tools for AGES and that's not happening. It would be a lot easier if there were server tools but we have to do the hard way and after banning over 20 IP's there no more space in adding more IP's.

ZEQ2 isn't simply fun anymore as it is right now, I can't deal with the players that are breaking the server at all. Unique ID's would work but I guess this won't come "till the next stable version" comes out. Server tools aren't here either, so why am I possibly trying so hard to deal with them?
I'm just wasting my time on the server.

This, is not true at all. Almost 60% of the players in the server always complain about every single thing when I come on.

All right, then. Do what you must, but there still are some good people hanging around on the server. If you must sacrifice their fun for your problems to end, then do so.

I'm know for a fact that you aren't the only one with this problem. I've had people come on my server and SPAMSPAMSPAM all day long, I get confused to my wits end as to who the culprits are because I cannot read their names before they blast me.

The people complaining don't tell me the culprits' names, and instead want rights to be able to kick, when I don't know how to give them such rights. I don't even know these people, and they ask for rights to my server???

Seriously, you are not the only one.

I remember Grega talking about it.

That was my experience from Half-Life 1 servers. Even back in the WON days every person connecting to the server had his unique game ID. And since Quake 2 is the base for both Quake 3 and GoldSRC. Not to mention HL1 and Quake 3 have a lot of similar console commands. I was asking if the Quake 3 game also has that unique game ID in it.

In Half-Life it used to be called a WON_ID and that got replaced by STEAM_IDs

Now it could be a network thing but more likely than not it was a Quake 2 thing. of course chances are that such IDs got removed and replaced by peoples IPs when the engine for Quake 3 was made public.

Those are not server tools. Those are basic client side console commands.

Namely the "status" command. I know for sure that Quake 3 has that command. And any person in the server can use it. It tells him information about ALL the people playing in the server. Nicknames used and other info.

Just leave the server on, and just let things go as they go. If you will try to manage it and high five or kick every bad guy, you can go on doing that forever, so I'd say, just host it, and leave the server be. I really don't want to lose this server mate.

I know this's reviving a page away or two, but it's a darn game people, right maybe you sit on your Computer for a few hours with a elaborate coin collection about backstabbing everyone, whilist on the other side some people just play it one their free time, caring less about anyone backstabbing them.

If you don't like that, host your own server, I mean our weak spot is that we didn't exactly like when you WS clan jumped into the server stabbing us, but you have the weak spot that you can't control a SINGLE backstab in a weekend, I mean come on man, it was a weekend kill!


I think someone should go ask Zeth to vary the Server Options, for example, if you want Specific IP adresses to Enter the Server, you have that option, or if you are the creator, you can bloppity blip bloop people and high five, Kick, Rise Power etc... I'd think it'd be epic if that really happened, not only for this sake...

Anyways, to the heart of the post
