What's all this ruckus about about? The ONLY thing I can find wrong with this Gohan, is that his hair parts way too far to the right, and that's me being picky.

this is a fool drawing...
and that effect black shading is good only for that drawing..
ther'aren't so light and contrasted, darkness, satured colors like that for the characters in generally..
take reference only from anime or form the original drawing of akira toriyama...
is too obvious that you want joking ..

I follow this image but I didn't change the hair You've been here long enough to know that you're never supposed to use fan art as a reference.

It's not fanart. It's from the same guy who makes all the recent commercial game and cover art, Yamamuro.
This is from a calendar released somewhere around 2005 so I still don't see it as a reliable source though. Only stuff from the period when the anime was still in production. Now he's using more and more his own style and it doesn't look good to me.
On the other hand I love the stuff from Nakatsuru. He's responsible for all the recent Dragon Ball Z cover art that actually looks good. But still you can't really use it as reference.
I should make a thread about this with pictures some time.

You can do what you want. If you want to experiment that's fine. No one can stop you from making your own versions of the characters.

TRL, does creating the damaged textures of Vegeta require any modeling software and/or experience with modeling? I'm willing to try it.
EDIT: Could you pass me the injury PSDs?

You asking me that question doesn't give me great confidence that you can do it, but alright here are the psd's.

I can do it, I just haven't done something like that before. I'm sure I could figure it out. *intense laughter*
Thanks for giving me a chance.
By the way, the only reason I mentioned that question was because I know the damage skin files were not updated, so I figured there was some kind of way to identify what those names mean.
I think it goes like this... in the skin file, the characters to the left of the comma (,) are the actual names of the pieces of the model, and to the right is the name which allows the shader to read which piece of the model gets a certain texture.
Is this correct?
EDIT: Am I supposed to move the damaged textures around? I see that you uploaded an upper Vegeta Saiyan body, and the rest are Goku PSDs... Are you sure that's what I need?
Sorry about sounding like such a novice, but if those PSDs are what you mentioned, it seems kind of ridiculous to have to do this each time you make a new texture that's in the same placement as before.

@ VladD: That doesn't exist. At least not on the svn. Maybe Brad or MDave still have that lying around on their HD.
@Link: I'm not entirely sure what you are asking me. But those psd's is all I have. After I made those, Zielan took over for the other characters using my psd's and adding some touches of his own.
So if you want psd's for any other character you'll have to ask Zielan. To create each stage just look at the different damage textures Zielan created. Each stage has a progression of more severe wounds.

Ah, okay. Well, don't worry about my other questions. I think I got it. Anyway, I'll ask Zielan, and hopefully he still has those PSDs.
