Its simple. It all boils down to money. Give a person power and he will abuse it for personal gain. The idea behind the abuse in democracy is fear. that's especially evident in the american culture. Ever notice how quick US ministers and senators are to throw round the word "war"

War on drugs, war on terrorism, war on crime. War is a word that inspires fear in people. It makes people afraid and irrational (more than they already are). Making it easy for dictatorial laws to pass. Step by step one line at a time the government is removing freedom and privacy in the name of safety and justice. The people are fooled into fearing the issue though propaganda to such an extent that they don't even realize what the government is doing to their own freedom. In the minds of the people is more or less the following "If I play ball here and agree, then I'll be safer and I'll have less risk of loosing this peaceful life".

Now if this is a plan of a secret society which controls the government or if its individuals acting on their own hoping that they are the ones who retain power until their death is unknown. But one thing is certain. The government wants nothing short of keeping tabs on all its citizens 24/7 so that no one even thinks of questioning its authority.

The model citizen is always the one who plays by the rules, doesn't ask questions and quietly works so that the "leaders" don't have to.

How can we be human if we don't have the freedom of choice without fear of being accused of a crime. Darn it all, every single one of those books I've read that detail the totalitarian nature of government are all haunting my conscience... Maybe Lord of the Flies was wrong about the lack of society leading to feral savagery.

Recently, in my Government class, I learned the following from Thomas Hobbes:

1. All men are evil.
2. Man has the right to self-rule.
3. Absolute leadership is necessary but corrupt.

Basically, all men are evil, and well, they have the right to govern themselves, but how will one man solve issues with another if they are both in it to win it all? Hobbes claimed that because there is not one lloyd among men (meaning lloyd, lloyd, or any other lloyd is not flesh and blood in the world of Man), one of the men must rise above the rest, and that the populace must all proclaim him ruler.

The problem is that, that one man is evil, just like the rest of the human race. If that one man drives the nation to achieve his goals, showing his corruption, the populace cannot easily change the way things happen, since they had elected him into office.

So, we need a mix of order AND freedom in order to successfully create a utopia for all, yet that mix is very precise, and we have not reached that resolution in the history of mankind.

Your really going to believe Thomas Hobbes just because he's older than you? All he did was blurt out his opinions on human nature(which doesn't make him right)without reading anything.

Each human King has failed so far, and so will all the rest.... It's been that way for thousands of years. I could tell you why, but you'll call me crazy.

The point is, that no man is above another. We are all imperfect. Just because someone is educated regarding economy circulation, spending tactics, creating new programs/bills/acts etc. he is no better as a president than Paris Hilton. Both will fail. Power changes everyone, it doesn't matter how smart you are.

Philosophy, as well as science of any kind, are based entirely on theories. In this case, Hobbes was dead on. Have you seen a region in which there is no order? Have you seen that, even in America, people manipulate law to achieve their goal?

The Founding Fathers aimed to combat this global evil by establishing a government that is created by the people, with no one branch of government retaining more power than another. Of course, this balance has shifted dramatically, but it is still there.

Now, have you known any president, or world leader, who didn't have goals that would benefit him or her, directly or indirectly? It's not very common if it has happened, and they are quickly ousted from power just because other leaders are corrupt enough to manipulate the people.

Yes, yes, and yes. This was all under self-rule too(which isn't all flawed). Though it's like trying to finish ZEQ2-lite without consulting Zeth(which is very flawed).

Even before the balance shifted dramatically, their governments started flawed. It is a human government(game project) that doesn't consult a lloyd(Brad)for any of it's end goals whatsoever. We've done well to get this far.... Well, there are still 3rd-world countries....(ZEQ2-Lite mods)

It doesn't matter what goals they have in mind or how well they think they can execute them. The temptations of the flesh are too great(see Bill Clinton). This meaning you cannot be of flesh and rule properly. These goals will never have the correct balance of The Rights of man, no matter how beneficial they seem. Unless they love each and every human being equally, consult a higher power for guidance regularly, and acknowledge/study King Solomon's rule as a human king(and how it ended), they will continue to fail sadly.

NOTE: These comparisons are not limited to ZEQ2-Lite. I would also fail as a king/president.
