Just as a side note. No GFX cards are not meant only for gaming. What in Lloyds name gave you that idea. Graphics cards are meant for rendering images as fast and as high quality as possible using shaders and other such functions.
Weather its used in games or in media is irrelevant. the only difference is that media needs to be real time where programs such as inventor don't require full real time. Yet those programs still require graphics capabilities of these new cards.

Brute force? Don't make me laugh. If you haven't noticed yet, they are still EQUAL. Power consumption has 10 less WATT on the GTX 590 (Oh cool, just 1€ more a month). The GTX 590 has less speed on 8x AA+ graphics on games. VS the HD6990, the power consumption is 10 more WATT and has 1 GB RAM more. The texel rate of the HD6990 has 105% MORE than the GTX 590.
The cards are equal as they are ABOUT the same speed. Keep in mind the GTX 590 got released a few weeks later after the HD6990. So nothing has changed at all.
Oh and hey, I just lately checked a friends PC with a HD6990 and I saw it was very quiet and NEVER gets above 50C. By saying "GTX 590 HAS WON DURR" only gives me a light that you're fan boy.
And yet again, DEAL WITH IT. They are equal.

that's where you got these Professional graphic card for, companies uses these for 3D Media movies or videos. Sure, these normal graphic cards can be used for the same thing, but it'll run a lot better if you get one of those Professional Graphic Cards.
By the way, I haven't said they were ONLY for games. But NVidia or ATI created these cards to play games. But again, the best thing to do for 3D media (real-time) is to buy a Professional Graphic card.

you simpley have no idea what you are talking about , gtx590 is better with aa on , that's a proven fact in benchmarks , and I do my research on hardware before I
make my statements , no I am not a fan boy and I never will be , and yes the gtx590 won on the cooling and noise side , you are probably making things up , now your friend has a hd 6990 , I WILL NOT WASTE MY TIME IN THIS ANY MORE , YOU ARE A ATI FAN BOY PROBABLY , OUR argument WAS ON GTX590 AND HD6990 NOT AMD VS NVIDIA , I HAVE SPENT A heck LOT OF MY LIFE IN THIS AND I KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING , THIS IS MY LAST REPLY TO you
grega: I know , but there is a specific line for that , the quadro series , yes of course geforce can do it too , but geforce is degsined for games , quadro is degsined for professional work

This means you're not good at reading my posts as I was only talking about the HD6990 and the GTX 590. Good game my friend. I'm not a fan boy but this only means you're trying to prove that the GTX 590 is better in any way. Both cards are equal and I will not change my mind.
Again, benchmarks are bad and it will never prove right unless an ATI or NVIDIA card kills an NVidia/ATI Game, then you can say "this card is better".
EDIT: And by the way, I was invited today to see how his new pc runs, and it runned perfectly. So no, it's not a "Fan boy" base story.

It's funny how you say reviews are wrong and you're posting a review to prove yourself right.

tomshardware don't , 3dguru does not , hardwareknucks does not and Bit-Tech does not , other than these 4 just favor either amd or nvidia , but these 4 are always just in their conclusions and reviews

At least the only review I saw there did. (I think it was crysis 2, not sure)

Reviews are only full of lies, even if it is the best hardware site there is: It could be full of lies.
The only way to see what a card can truly have, is to buy the graphic cards yourself.

Which simply has the same stuff if you buy the HD6990. You like the card, you're choice. But you can't just come up and say "NVidia has the best card" just because you have the GTX 590 (or not and I don't care if you have one).
And if I can truly be honest, you're responding like a fan boy, trying to convince me the GTX 590 is better in any way.
Also *laughing out loud* @ that review too, they truly have a scrub case fml.
