Not all the information is bad, but you have to have enough critical thinking skills as well as good knowledge about the series already to determine which parts are accurate and how much of the rest is over-exaggerated/made up fan inspired nonsense.
In simplest terms, using Dragonball Wiki to determine accuracy with Dragonball Z is like writing a ten page paper for college and listing your references as the back of a pack of gum, graffiti on a gas station bathroom wall, and a two year old's used coloring book. The teacher grading it is going to wonder what you were smoking...
In all honesty though, both Dragonball Wiki and Wikipedia in general serve a similar purpose. They give you a general idea about the subject matter in the article, and maybe a little information based on truth, but most of the rest is more often than not simply opinionated conjecture based loosely on the subject. If you want truly accurate information on something, the right way is to re-examine the original source material itself and use critical thinking to properly analyze the information in the correct context to which it originally appeared.
With that in mind, most Auras typically appeared either when someone was powering up, transforming, showing off, extremely angry(usually accompanied with powering up, and/or transforming), or using a lot of energy to fly extremely fast(for travel purposes), and some times the character in question was in several of these categories at the same time.
All of my analysis on this is based purely off of what I observed in the series itself, and not off of unofficial third party sources.
