the kid naruto is not discomforting in the first season he is supposed to be ill-advised , naruto has a fantastic plot I think ,there is no telling what will happen next , unexpected characters die , which is a + point in my opinion , they don't forget the powers set in the starting , like sharingan etc , it is not over powered either , senju perfectly fought and even defeated the sharingan users , they don't over look the rules set in the start , the fights are unpredictable , animation is a + too , the way the characters matured over the episode is good

And One Piece is a pure child comedy. Luffy doesn't even have bones and I don't care what kind of jelly fruit he ate... Also he's immortal falling from a cliff to a rock and not even a scratch? Please.. The ONLY charater I like there is Zoro, he is superb .

He is made of rubber. it's the same idea as Naruto being able to clone himself. Just another super power. Though unlike Naruto bloppity blip bloop, knows how to distinguish between serious moments and laughs, while Naruto mixes all of that up.

But neither of them are as serious and as well animated as FMA:B or even the new Hunter x Hunter series.

And as far as plot goes there are loads of animes with a better plot that doesn't revolve round unlocking new powers to kick more buttocks, but actually go for a darker view all together.

I like the idea of getting stronger...
gaining new levels of strengths.
being able to fly.
Shoot fire from hands.
Then if you get hurt... guess what. You get even stronger and comeback and dominate your opponent in a fair battle.
Train in almost 1000x gravity to be able to get stronger than your rival.
Gain internal peace and then end up finding out you have some evil still in you.
Then a person takes that evil and turns it into strength.
Goku loving CHEATED HE HAD loving 30 loving YEARS Vegeta ONLY HAD 6 AND STILL COULD HAVE KILLED Goku IN THAT TIME

One Piece has the most innovative story line, great with emotions. After episode 55, Alabasta arc is where it starts.

Narutp's plot is ridiculous, Naruto/Sasuke bloppity blip bloop, Madara Uchiha is hax in the latest chapters, Uchiha are everywhere it's like Kishi vacuums them off.

It's just horrible, good guys never dies, especially in this war. Madara is HAX.
Naruto rivals other people with experience a ninja who's a genin for two years can beat someone probably with over 50 after his hax nine tail powers.

War is lacking in identifiable function! Just Sasuke/Naruto/Itachi/Madara other characters don't have some screen time, and it's ending soon so good riddance.

Though I still check it on to see if anything has changed.

LASTLY , its all personal opinion , discussion is use less

1 - Just because it's popular doesn't mean people like it more.

2 - People who are even 30 years old watched Dragon Ball Z while Pokemon is newer and oriented to a younger audience. Most users in any forum are probably teenagers or young adults and that's why people might like Dragon Ball Z more there.

3 - I'm pretty sure you don't visit Pokemon forums, right?

4 - Agree with grega, Pokemon is easily more popular than Dragon Ball Z. Who doesn't know Pokemon? Because I know some people who have never heard about Dragon Ball Z.

I like me some pokemanz too.
But just the games.

If I'd had to pick I would go with Naruto over One piece. Then again I'm watching neither right now. I watched naruto up until the end of the pain fight and I watched one piece up until that lloyd/sky island saga.

Naruto has some horrible gooey insides and in that regard I have to give props to one piece, theirs is pretty good.

But in One piece I never really get a feeling of suspense. I had it a little bit with the lloyd villain, but it was over pretty soon. Maybe Luffy is just too invincible and no real downside to his character. They're all just joking around all the time anyway. Or maybe I just don't care enough about the characters.
Naruto has to struggle with the ninetails which is more interesting. The frog transformation was pretty weird though. But most of the credit I give to Naruto, is basically for the first couple of sagas which were pretty hardcore and tense. The fight in the mist country and then Sasuke getting cursed in that forest what was supposed to be some jolly exam. Even up until the fight with Gaara, which was pretty epic with those beasts. The series should have ended there. Or at least taken a break. The gooey insides killed it for me.

The animation itself in Naruto....had better character designs in part one. In Shippuuden the quality of drawn characters died down and was more simplified. BUT, Norio Matsumoto is a g to the double d with animation.

He excels in animation, even with the deformities, it looks great. But Dragon Ball Z had great animators as well, and this one is my favorite:

The suspense is shown a lot, though I'm guessing you haven't reach them episodes/arcs. There's a lot.

If a story doesn't get interesting since the beginning then you can consider it a negative point.

I'm trying to re-watch bloppity blip bloop all over again since the first chapter, but this time I'm trying to read the manga because I think I might like it more. So far I'm at the part when Buggy gets his buttocks kicked for 1st time (... again?). This is like the 4th time I try...
