They said it feels like electricity. Listen to the clip better.
Besides, they try to hook up an ammeter to him, to no avail.

science is a best guess too ... at best.

That's your worst guess. You even know what the principles of science are?

You guys make me lose faith in humanity, really. I'm having a hard time believing that you can say that this man is able to create fireballs out of chi or whatever the heck with a straight face.

you imply as if the eastern world is deprived of technology or knowledge

now I'm not saying people can create stuff using chi or what ever its called , but there allot more to this world than science ,There are things that cannot be explained in this world.

Just because you know how something works does not mean there is nothing more to it anymore

on a side note , I'm doing pre engineering and am 1 year from my university , so yes I do know the principles

Science is the art of extracting knowledge from the universe through maximally trying to negate the influences of our human nature which creates all sorts of biases. immutable belief thinking is one of those biases.

If there is still something left to be found in any subject, we will find it through these practices, not by believing in it or wanting it to be true.

what I think.. well that can be true, the video of the first post.. never underestimate the Mind power..
the rare peoples in world exsist.. also that Karate master who was sitting on the leaves without breaking the weak branches, simulating a sort of leavening ..

There was also a guy who won a Guinnes world record .. he also issued an electrostatic force ,was able to bend spoons with the power of the mind, just like in MATRIX movie ..

well never try this, because you will never do it if you want will just happen rarely.. only one time I can remember that I was emitting occasionally a slight static electricity by touching a person with the elbow ..

believe or not.. the CHI, Ki exsist..

mmm wait I'm thinking this older man of the first post. ..should have tried this electro power in the water Laughing Laughing .. worse than smoking where you are doing gasoline.. Laughing

brother, this can be explained by science.
haven't any of you here ever heard about quantum physics???
If you study it, your view about how you used to interpret stuff the classical science way will totally change..

and by the way, if you guys believe in "The big bang theory" and not this, you guys are reallly messed up.

Okay, let me clear something up. If it weren't the influence of human nature, we wouldn't know that the Earth is round. If no one had thought of the improbable of their time ,evolution, reaching the moon.etc. science wouldn't be what it is now. Without human influence, science has no meaning.

All of us know that evolution, round shape of the earth, planets revolving round the sun was all considered "immutable belief"(That wasn't the word filter Razz) in the past. There's no one who doesn't know this in the current age and this my friends, is the same.

There is nothing there to believe in the big bang theory, due to the expanding nature of the universe, way back in time there had to be a moment where all mass was still together. A certain force had to start the observed expansion in the universe we see today. So there's almost no way around the big bang.

Your lack of knowledge feeds your imagination. I like to reserve my imagination for things humanity hasn't settled yet.

Curiosity is a part of human nature yes. It is not a bias though. It's actually the one driving force behind all science obviously. I don't really know what your point is there, human nature isn't just this one big thing. It has several aspects. Some detrimental, some benificial to the pursuit of knowledge.

And no, evolution, the roundness of the earth and heliocentrism were never just based on belief. Enlightened minds came to these logical conclusions through observation that these were the ways it had to work or it didn't work. In spite of the mythical ways of explaining things already established by immutable belief, they sought out to find the truth.

That's my whole point. If all mass was once together and if mass is just energy and energy is just consciousness, and if that same consciousness spread out and expanded, it means we are all related to each other by that consciousness. If that's the case, one thing influencing another thing should not be improbable.

and like you said, those facts were based on logic. But we still haven't been able to find out how placebo effect, deja vu, intuition.etc work but we know they exist. Simply, we don't know enough about the brain to totally rule out the possibility. I like to always be prepared for the unexpected.

I' more amazed by how computers and internet exist than by this video. *intense laughter*

It's just what I believe in.
Though I do agree what what you have to say.

never said that can't be explained , and yes I have studied about quantum physics quite allot , along with it suggesting a few theories about near death experiences that some people in near death situations have and the live after death
though what I meant was science cannot explain every thing , there are forces way beyond our reach

If it weren't the influence of human nature, we wouldn't know that the Earth is round. If no one had thought of the improbable of their time ,evolution, reaching the moon.etc. science wouldn't be what it is now. Without human influence, science has no meaning.

I agree on this one , could not have said any better

Najeeb, please explain to me what quanta, smaller particles than the atom have to do with life after death.

Divinemaniac, the placebo effect is basically mediating the emotional reaction your brain has to a pain stimulus. This is done through the trust and belief in medicine and doctors. kind of like a kiss from your mom on your booboo. A pain stimulus is just an electric pulse running through your nerves. It's up to your amygdala in your brain to decide how to deal with it.

The deja vu effect is kind of like a lag in your brain. Certain stimuli reaching your brain get processed before they reach your conscious awareness, creating the sensation that you've all experienced that before, basically just a split second before actually. They tend to happen more if you're really tired.

Nello, you can pretend to be a super hero by creating static electricity on your body quite simply. Dry skin rubbing against synthetic fabrics works. Or also shuffling your feet in socks over a carpet. Go out and shock your friends!

That still doesn't tell us how and why it works. Razz

This one I remember watching in one of VSauce's videos at youtube. But this isn't proved right? I might be wrong.

Or take a baloon and rub it. Baloon then becomes "Super Hero" - it can even pull stuff. Like rub it and put it next to water that's falling from the sink and see magic.

Yes there are things that cannot be explained (yet) in our world. Example other galaxies that are so big that by our pyhisics it shouldn't even exist.

I would advise not to get into discussion with TRL. He's student of medicine and lets hope one day becomes doctor. They don't accept stuff that's not already been proven. that's just a fact. that's why you never hear some doctor recommending you to go onto some alternative healing method Very Happy

you learn a lot if you discuss Wink Sometimes I take the opposite side just to get into a discussion Razz
