Saying he isn't blocky won't make it so, because he really is. His arms and legs are perfect 4 sided blocks.. You rigged it with horrible deformations. It's really just a mess. I think you still have a long way to go of finetuning your skills.

I'm sorry dude but that looks like a "speed model",it just looks rushed and plain odd,I think that you need to get more practice in modeling more complicated characters,heck if I tried to model that it would look more like a strangled tree with legs and arms ,the textures are good though.
