Earth Special Forces has so many videos and still it's not sued so why will ZEQ2 lite get used
I've already explained (several times) the rationality of how Earth Special Forces might have dodged the Cease and Desist hammer. Until their recent (unreleased) updates, Earth Special Forces was nowhere NEAR the visual quality to match or compete with the official commercial Dragon Ball Z games; therefore, it likely was not seen as an actual threat to profits since this gaming generation (their target demographic) is all about glitter and glamor over substance.
Regardless, they can issue a Cease and Desist for absolutely ANYTHING that infringes on their trademarks. Although a radical example, this would even include a drawing/doodle someone made of Goku when they were a child.
It's not usually in their best interest to worry about extra publicity to their concepts, but they do ALWAYS have the legal right to protect any likeness.
You might think there is no risk, but that doesn't change the reality. And that's where most of us are coming from
Domitjen does realize the risk as do myself and others. In this particular case, it's felt that the advantages of exposure to an open-ended project severely outweigh the potential outcome of a cease and desist.
Standing against the idea is certainly NOT where "most" people are coming from -- especially myself.

I think ... that because we've already released and there's such widespread knowledge about ZEQ2-Lite through sites like YouYube, that there would be no real benefit from stopping us. We are a paying customer to our web host, they want to keep us! If they give us a C&D, they might think of the possibility of us leaving them as a customer and setting up shop somewhere else on the internet with their competitive web host. I also think having that page on www.ZEQ2.com has provided a good level of protection too.
However, if Funimation does approach our web host, and our web host demands we remove any copyright material on the site, our web host don't have the power to refuse that really, or else they will be the people that gets fined and sued. If we refuse, I'm not sure what would happen then, but I think it could along the lines of removing stuff themselves
So if it ever comes to that (which I highly, highly doubt!) we have contingency plans
Besides, another Youtube video isn't going to hurt amongst the hundreds that are already on there
Like Brad told me, the most they would do is ask to remove the Youtube video and that's it.
I'll take the risk, not because I seek the project gains popularity, not because I wish to feed my ego, but to stand up for the fans that want to share videos of the games they like.

We started on script, cooperation together in some Skype sessions but then Chromegloss suddenly never came online on skype again :p
But this was back in my "way to enthusiastic fan-boyish days". It's better it never came true.
