Bingo. The only reason there is mode than Frieza is because of the ka-ching factor.

For a time Toryiama was so sick of Dragon Ball Z that he made fun of it in his Neko Majin manga. Adding stuff like Goku cheating to win a fight, Saiyans portrayed as lipid couch potatoes and stuff like that.

that's not what emotional really is. All he did was tell Gohan to let loose, and guess what. Within those 3 sentences Gohan managed to make an entire character profile of 16 and acted as if they have been friends forever. Imagine that. Total strangers.

Vegetas death was emotional to a degree. But by the time EVERYONE knew heck be either revived with then dragonballs or reapear with a halo.

Now compare this to Krillins death.

1.) Guru was dead. Namek dragonballs were stones
2.) Krillin died once before so he couldn't be brought back by the earth dragon balls.
3.) After giving it all he had, Frieza was pretty badly damaged, but alive and Krillin was helpeless against him.

Its that sort of stuff that makes the viewers root for the hero.

As for your "They all trained to beat cell" Vegeta trained, Trunks Trained, Goku and Gohan trained and Piccolo had a go.

Their roles were simple.

Goku - Fight VS Cell and loose
Vegeta, Trunks, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Piccolo - Get possessed by the Cell Jrs
Gohan - To fight Cell just like Goku fought Frieza.

With the exception that Frieza was a bit warn down up to the point where Goku arrived, where Cell was revitalized with a senzu.

Also story like for example.

There is not a single plot hole in the story up to the end of Namek. Everything is well thought out and attention is in the details.
The rest of Dragon Ball Z is filled wtih plot holes the size of craters as the story aimlesly wanders round Cell and Buu.

Even the notion of Gero being able to construct such powerful beings is kind of bogus when you consider some things:
His creations were no match for Goku when he was still a kid. And while he did monitor Gokus progress, he only did so up to where he left Namek. So gis goal was a fighter whos power is so small that his Super Saiyan self would need only sneeze to kill him.

Yet Gero managed to do what even Friezas greatest scientists couldn't and made Cyborgs (Yes they were cyborgs and not androids with the exception of 16 who was an android) strong enough to wipe the floor with the SSJs.

How about a little combination comparrison.

The Kaioshin said that they have to be carefull in order that the energy shockwaves wouldn't wake up Buu. Why isn't Buu awake in Trunks future. The egg is there as the past of the 2 dimensions is the same. And the shockwaves from the androids should have been more than enough.

Further more. The Kaioshin knows about SSJs and exactly who can turn into one, yet he didn't know about Cell who was as strong as Dabura (as hinted by Vegeta).

Cell and Buu sagas are riled up with such misstakes.

Toryiama would have made a better call if he continued with Firezas race and showing Frieza as one of the weakest, rather than inventing Cell and Buu.

I'm probably going to generate a lot of dislike for me by saying this.

But don't care. Bleach, Naruto and One piece are third rate anime shows. their manga counterpart is decent, but they are nothing special in the anime versions.

You're entitled to your collection of unsupported data but that anime you told me about dark rave or something like that was totally zippy. It didn't lure me in when I was watching the first episode and when I got to episode 10 I was bored to tears.

Just saying Bleach lures you in the very first scene and everything about it is so cool.

There's no way I'd rather watch Dragon Ball Z over Bleach having seen both first episodes for the very first time.

And I agree about Naruto and One Piece. They're on the level of InuYasha. Absolutely zippy animes.

You mean Rave Master. As for Dragon Ball Z. You have to remember that its essentially a second season of sorts. The first episode is from Dragonball.

by the way since you didn't like Rave Master. What do you think of Fairy Tail?

I consider Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z to be the same thing since they're one manga. And as for Fairy Tale I don't know yet since I haven't watched it or heard anything about it but I might give it a try. Who knows.. It could be the next Bleach.

Well since we are already throwing out favs, my favorite manga would be FMA. This aside of Tsubasa chronicles is the only manga that I could stand reading past the first chapter, and it had me hooked *intense laughter*

To bad it was never continued past chapter 20 or so of the manga.
