No offense to brendon, but I really think kids younger than 12 shouldn't be allowed on the internet. It's not good for them.

There is control on the content of tv. On the net there isn't. 11 year olds could be watching happy tree friends happy time photos if they wanted too. And that is too sick to even describe. They are also to trusting to be given the liberty to talk to strangers via messenger programs.

First time I got internet I remember my mother saying: Don't watch any sites that aren't allowed.

I too started using internet at 11, but my range was set by my brother, it was only: Google.
But, now my range increased, I can play games(under 18 suggessted) and their mods and also join forums.
Mmm... YouTube I agree too that corrupted things are there but I always avoid them.
My actual intention to use internet was gaming, and for learning game dev skills(not even started).

I started using net when I was 11..
but after 6 years .. I became bored by the happy tree friends photos and videos 
So stopped now
But it didn't spoil my academic results

I never let big bros dominate me it really annoys me. I started using the net when I was 7. and I avoid happy time photos videos . well most of the time and I saw one funny vid were Piccolo and Goku are loving Vegeta.
