This is caused by a knocked back to automatically "stop moving" when an attacker is nearby (so the auto-knockdown hit can occur). The issue usually happens when the knocked back character is blocked by some obstacle (such as the ground) after the hit. This causes them to be open for another attack.
I'll be sure to put a delay timer on the hit before the person can be paused again for another hit. Additionally, if a player is knocked into the ground in future version, they will effectively "crash" into it.
