You are not supposed to run ZEQ2.exe, only the .bat file. You didn't read the guide on the site.

There is no guide that says that you start with .bat and not the .exe

The .bat file was a leftover file when we were manually launching the project as a mod. Both the .bat and .exe should be fully functional due to the bootstrap loader though.

Actually Brad, the bat file is something I added recently as a quick fix for the server browser, although it seems it didn't work. Interesting that the game works for some when using the bat file instead of the exe, I figure it may have something to do with the fast loading and unloading of the game using the bootstrap.

Isn't the guy saying he renamed the EXE to a BAT file and it miraculously worked? It sounds like he's got something seriously borked with his windows installation if that's the case.

so here is what I did
1 ) I runned .exe and nothing
2) I tried the separate .bat and it worked
3) I renamed .exe to .bat and it ALSO worked
okay I think I found out the problem
the problem is with showing the menu screen in full screen mode
once I've sucesfully launched via .bat I've went to the settings and set it to run in windows mode.
I've changed .bat to .exe once again and everything launches fine
one more thing
why full screen is launching via bat and it does not want through .exe I do not know
