Since the map isn't finished yet, I thought an update thread couldn't do any harm.
I replaced the current "landing" grass texture with this one and I kind of like the result.

Has a very "manga" feel, but not all that bad, really. I think this was an older "ultra-low poly" version of the map that Ramunas was doing, however. There's an alternate version that DarkLink had started floating around somewhere as well (if you can reach him
I'm pretty sure the version you are working from will likely be reserved for an early test map when optimizing for Pandora performance.

Hehe manga you say?
Try this!
Who's Darklink by the way? Does he ever pass by the chat?

Today I started work on "Evening" version of the last stand map, this is basically a texture swap so it could be done pretty quickly.
Discuss!

Discuss! This version is way better, the sad thing the new models and maps(revision) aren't so easy to edit(like water), new structure, new shaders etc. that's why we can't implant that grass texture to other fan based maps.

This map's grass texture is actually pretty bad. It's one texture for the entire map so no tiling but also no definition, almost no details at all.

Adding shadows is a lot more tedious than I thought. So I probably won't finish this today. Cheers!

What do you mean domo?
Anyway, I've started adding decent detail to the ground, like dirt and grass. Instead of just having those yellow blobs of pudding there.
This, however, is really going to take a while to finish. But it will be worth it!

Great shadows by the way. How do you make em?

It's all done by hand on one big texture covering the entire map, so it's almost pixel art. For the dirt patches I don't go higher then brush size 4.

Go to the "effects" folder and then "shading". There you'll find all the celbands ready for you to change their colors.

I have a..strange question, you have any idea to make it more like the PlayStation 2 Budokai Tenkaichi version with those files? Or like Raging Blast 2 white outlines.. ?

Little update.
Just a little corner is done for now. But if you see it from up high, the detail really pays off.
Especially if you compare it to the previous blurry look of the dirt patches. (first picture)
