Well, technically not a "jet pack". I suppose it would be called a.. "propellor-pack"?
Either way, I've recently come across some Youtube videos by Martin Jetpack, a small company that have created a functional jetpack
Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLccl_NWDQE
Supposedly functional to 8,000ft, safe/easy to use and flies for up to half an hour.
I totally want one of these.

Yeah, I believe there has been a Jetpack around since the sixties or so, which was smaller and looked more like what you'd expect a jetpack to look like. Problem is, it only lasted about 30 seconds .
This one, however, lasts for up to half an hour! Has a top speed of about 60 mph, could travel 30 miles on a tank, and you don't need a pilot's license because it's considered 'ultralight aircraft'
They actually plan on selling these when completed, for a small fee of $100,000.

I've seen accidents on youtube with jetpacks so I doubt there won't be needed licence for driving/flying
Maybe they'll put 10 hours of learning with experienced learner
With years that inovation will become more and more cheaper so almost everyone will have one which of course comes to traffic accidents
it's not the same crash with the car when you drive 60 miles and fell from sky from I don't know how many meters because you don't know how to fly or you forgot to refill it
It's a very dangerous thing so I doubt it will come on market

I dislike to be a debbie downer, but that thing is a hover pack, not a jet pack hahahah, I don't think it would get you higher than like 10ft, its cool yes, but pointless. the weight of it would love you over if you flew it off a building or sommin, when you left the building the weight would over power the force of its jets. but yeah its pretty cool

Yeah, I've been noticing a lot of that as well...
Oh, and while this design is decent for taking off from the ground(I've seen the video before), "Fusion Man's" design seems much better suited for high-speed travel. I think that it can hit somewhere around 120mph or so, easy.

Drawback is having to jump out of a plane to use it...
