-Budokai tenkaichi Goku head
-ripping Earth Special Forces models but not being able to rig or animate
-removing the celshader and using horrible Earth Special Forces like textures. Probably because it's ripped from Earth Special Forces models. But it's like he wants it to look bad.
-Totally no shading on the chest and head. Just all plain bad actually.
Why don't you try to do something decent Nemix and get deserved attention instead of riding mastap's and other people's back. This is like best beta all over again.

I have to agree with that, actually. What have you done development-wise for the community lately, TRL? If you truly want to inspire people to push themselves to new heights, you should work on serving as a good example to them.

I'm not so sure anymore. When I examine the hard facts of the situation boiled down, I simply see a group of individuals working towards producing SOME kind of result for the community. This is opposite to a cynical man going out of his way to denounce their fruits in all ways rather than being supportive.
TRL, you strike me as a the kind of guy who finds children with lemonade stands just so you can explain to them how their dreams will never come true and their business model is all wrong. You have no sense of idealism or any form of the quixotic!

I both agree with you and trl,
Mostly we all know that such kind of projects are doomed to fail. I know I don't have right to speak since I don't model, map or do anything at all. And yes at least they are trying, and yes maybe something good comes out of it.
But be honest, we've all seen best beta, ZEQ2 reloaded, and know how that ended. So in some way I can agree with trl too. They have a great motivation but in stead of working in really a good team and focus on 1 character that would look like ZEQ2 quality norms. They want to create a whole game with hundreds or characters in 2 weeks ( not literally but you get my point ). And we all know how this is going to end.
I know your next comment will overwhelm me to the point I don't dare to reply to you Zeth, like always but I really had to say it.

Let me paint you a picture.
So there's this new game out that's highly modifiable and based on a popular anime concept. The project itself is alright, but there's of plenty of relative content that could be added and that's where the real possibilities are at.
Every so often people visit the game's forums. Some are experienced and others brand new. They post day after day their works (edited and original alike), their ambitions, and their creations. Most are completely ridiculed, belittled, and just outright laughed at if they aren't already respected in the community in some way or part of the development team.
Despite the harsh reception, the users continue to work on and improve themselves and their works. They make sub-projects and packs; some are completely composed of other artist's work and just edited with minor changes. Even though the respected developers/users in the forum moan with discontent, the new editors still continue to dabble away at their texture edits and their minor model tweaks/combination.
Then. Something interesting happens. The rag-tag group of editors slowly begin to evolve and branch off their projects until it gets to the point where they actually have something that looks pretty good -- neigh, better than the original game one might say! They create their own website, attain their own community, and eventually, in time, they even decide to swap their game engine and concepts out.
These individuals have started at square one with no artistic/creative capability, stood through constant ridicule, and yet have now ascended to that of something bigger that can stand on it's own feet unsupported.
The game project in our story is was actually Bid For Power. The ridiculed developers doing edit jobs on existing models? ZEQ. My whole purpose for defending all of the users on these forums is so the SAME mistakes of the past are not repeated once again. What kind of PEOPLE would we be if we aren't supportive for developers (with a LOT more skill than we started with) that are struggling to do the EXACT same things we did!?
Next time you see a new thread with an edited texture, combined model, or tweaked attack, don't instantly shun and oppose the idea. These same conditions and scenarios are exactly what ZEQ2 was birthed from.
Having any other view in an identical scenario is simply promoting a double standard. Drop the smugness and open your eyes!

So what you are saying is that those ridicules were the fuel for you guys to continue and better yourself? okay I'll gladly continue.
Zeth, you seem to overgeneralize too much. I'm more of a man of the specific cases. I support the ones that have shown will and promise. I shun the ones that dabble around with the same tricks they've learned to get attention.
There is nothing stopping Nemix from learning how to rig. I know he already knows how to model, still he insists on using a commercial game's model. In this case the Goku head of budokai tenkaichi 3, of which we previously clearly stated it's not allowed to use.

Putting the story of ZEQ and ZEQ2 into context here is a bit far-fetched.
The majority of ZEQ2's devs likely never downloaded the original ZEQ and had completely different intentions for joining.
Your most prominent addition to the team which got you most of it's initial followers and respect was never being ridiculed.
Also how is it double standards, when it's exactly the same?
I completely agree with TRL and I'm starting to ask myself how long the hippie attitude and shunning of people who're actually developing something useful will continue.
Also, please clarify the situation regarding use of copyrighted material. I will not stay if it's encouraged. I'll not participate in illegal actions or those damaging people in the very same industry I'm working in and will also not participate in breaking the GPL.

I never said their hatred was our fuel, but merely that we were established around poor conditions with a goal and mindset of breaking free of those who would constrain progress in any way.
Zeth, you seem to overgeneralize too much. I'm more of a man of the specific cases. I support the ones that have shown will and promise. I shun the ones that dabble around with the same tricks they've learned to get attention.
It's not an over-generalization when it's identical in composure to our starting conditions. If anything you are failing to see my through the shroud of a single instance to the bigger picture that I've been trying to project to you for some time.
One person cannot be the judge of who will and won't succeed. We started much MUCH lower on the totem pole than most of these newcomers working here.
There is nothing stopping Nemix from learning how to rig. I know he already knows how to model, still he insists on using a commercial game's model. In this case the Goku head of budokai tenkaichi 3, of which we previously clearly stated it's not allowed to use.
You're missing the point that I've been trying to address. This has nothing to do specifically over the morals/legality over specific media usage -- which is heavily debatable as an entire subject in itself. No, I'm trying to fathom the logic of a scenario where continually denouncing something has any kind of positive impact in the end.
What is your end goal here? The user leaves the board and gives up entirely? The user gives in to the constant hatred and bends to your precise whims? Please explain how non-specific general-purpose insulting comments with no constructive layer to them can possibly benefit these people.
Putting the story of ZEQ and ZEQ2 into context here is a bit far-fetched. The majority of ZEQ2's devs likely never downloaded the original ZEQ and had completely different intentions for joining.
Interesting! You've taken it upon yourself to become a historian on our past when YOU were actually one of the people that played the role of the antagonists in the story above!
No, my explanation does NOT just involve ZEQ, but the early days of ZEQ2bfp as well. Dave was there along with many others that came and went over the years.
An open-development environment where anyone could create anything without prejudice was one of initial goals from the very beginning. It was one of our root principles. We've always encouraged our community members to be creative and spread the seed of progress. Many have done exactly that and moved on to their own projects with newfound knowledge and skills!
Your most prominent addition to the team which got you most of it's initial followers and respect was never being ridiculed.
Who might that be? You think a single user caused ZEQ2 to gain followers? Intriguing theory; however, there was no single developer that brought anything more significant than the rest in our steady growth over time. The result of our development and community spread was something that was equally shared.
Also how is it double standards, when it's exactly the same?
It would be a double standard if we chose to allow our own upbringing and primary goal to be forgotten and shoved aside so we can apply a unique scenerio (in a differing light) to those who repeat the cycle on our own game.
I completely agree with TRL and I'm starting to ask myself how long the hippie attitude and shunning of people who're actually developing something useful will continue.
I'm not sure how you are perceiving the situation, but this is by no means a "hippie" attitude (which is derogative in that context itself). I'm simply restating a neutral recollection of the past in hopes of breaking these pointless posts that keep popping up every time someone TRIES to do something that helps them grow in some way.
Beyond that, this isn't some isolated vendetta. Check out the forum guidelines. The guidelines equally disapprove posts that are of the opposite positive nature. That is, I'm not saying you should just say "Great job! Keep it up!" as that additionally offers nothing of substance for situational improvement.
Any post response should be purely analytical and critical in nature -- helping the user to grasp shortcomings and improve his/her works in some way. Anyone (regardless if they are a contributor or not) should abide by the SAME rules/guidelines that exist on the forums as anyone else.
What's the point of having general guidelines if some users are exempt?

Well, if I was the antagonist I surely must know the story! :p
I knew you'd consider me one of the antagonists, which is surprising to me because I never really said anything about the quality of your models or even the fact that you were only editing other's stuff. RiO and me were doing exactly the same.
Our discussions during that time mostly revolved around technical limitations you didn't agree on or more specifically the feasability of integrating your ideas into a balanced game at then-gen hardware, which is pretty much the same as even today (although in the hacking thread you're being me!).
That one person I mentioned would be RiO who was probably the most highly respected member in the Bid For Power, Saviour of Strength and Freedom's community. I'm not trying to say ZEQ2 Lite is only good because of him or anything, but at the point he became part of the team and it was announced that it'd no longer be Bid For Power-based changed the stance of large parts of the community. After all in a full-fledged modifications your previously far-fetched ideas would really be possible, while before that you didn't even have any programmer (at least none that you ever announced).
EDIT:
As for the guidelines, that's kind of the point of my hippie attitude comment. They don't seem to be enforced at all and are missing a lot of important aspects which are loosely spread through other threads. Illegal content is posted on a daily basis along with entirely new fearsome creature posts and it'd be completely ignored if it wasn't for contributors to step up.
But instead of getting backup from you, TRL's contributor status is temporarily removed or you make a post like that one here.
I remember similar situations in a really cool guy (and all his alt accounts) threads, where you keep defending the initial post even though it's clearly visible that he's just trying to cause trouble.
The general forum attitude would probably be much better if people trying to maintain order (which nobody else seems to be doing therefore dubbed hippies!) wouldn't constantly get backstabbed while fearsome creatures freely roam around the place.

Zeth wrote : these pointless posts that keep popping up every time someone TRIES to do something that helps them grow in some way.
There you're doing it again. Overgeneralizing.
This probably stems from the fact that you only browse the occasional topics that catch your interest. Such like the obvious misdoings of "respected" members.
While I am following all of these guys closely. And after a while, you kind of know what they are up to.
Nemix does the same attention seeking at the Earth Special Forces forums. I am of course willing to give him a chance if he would do something respectable. Like the time he and Niels would compete in modeling chiaotzu. He showed promise in the start of the model, but never finished. See where Niels went and see where Nemix regressed to? Model ripping. He is just too lazy.
So I don't know where you are getting the idea that I am trying to stop people from editing/modeling whatever. I am even encouraging him to learn how to rig/animate.
I do however discourage him to use models from other games(Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Earth Special Forces) of which he has no right using them.

There we go, there probably wouldn't be any need for these "offensive" posts of mine if there was a more effective way of handling misbehavior.
Even though you run the project, it might be wise to listen to the input of your followers for a change. I know you think you are investing in the future with protecting these young ones, but honestly they hardly ever have good intentions. And you fail to see through that.

and how do you know if he used Earth Special Forces or tenkaichi models ? ,I agree with Brad , Also you called my post a childs thing or something, for you're info I was right , why do you think that you are so mejestic and that you're ways are always righht and others are wrong , that's just so arrogant , theh Biscuits raj in indian subsontiant also had the same attitude and soon they lost control over the indian subcontinent, that is a example more than enough.
edit: What do you mean by we have false intentions , I don't think that you are more devoted to ZEQ2-lite more than us , Why do you think I and some other people are here for 12 hrs or more , why do you think that I am working over the last 2 days with out sleep on a map , WHY? , you think that's for the team build , then the answer is no . I am personally devoted to zeq2lite. and I believe the other fans are too , who you call "young ones"

Hey TRL what does it matter if some stuff is ripped, players don't care if their ripped or done from scratch they just want new contet because they got bored of the same things...
New Goku with new head...
Piccolo with new texture
Raditz with yellow hair
those are all edits too
people want new characters... new maps...
new stuff until the real official stuff come out
to keep them attracted to this game...

I dislike your scumbag mentality, it isn't allowed because it's possible.
By that theory nothing would stop the Earth Special Forces team of using ZEQ2 models in their next release. If you have even the slightest bit sense of honor, you don't do that.
The Budokai Tenkaichi 3 model is just highly illegal. I don't have a clue why you don't get that. One glance at that model being used from any kind of member of the Dragon Ball Z stockholders and ZEQ2-lite is shut down faster then you can say "I'm an leaping lizard"
