...I need help with 3ds max!I can't see the image when I apply it to an object.I've seen tutorials but none of them explained how to see the picture without rendering.

press M and scroll down

Go into you're material editor, and click the "Show standard map in viewport" button.
Note that certain material types may gray it out,(such as the ink n paint style) and won't let you use that option.
