since there isn't going to be any destructive terrain. is it possible to put sprites on the map to make it look like it's been badly beaten. you know like, " dark scorch marks and cracks..

I think those might be added, but later in the future.
I think that the team has different, more basic priorities to do, like fixing bugs.
You will, fix the bugs, right? Right?! (J/okay)

This is usng Quake III (worst game ever) engine so I doubt it. But why destructable terrain?, in the first minute everybody would destroy all

is it possible to put sprites on the map to make it look like it's been badly beaten. you know like, " dark scorch marks and cracks..
Those are known as decals. Support exists, but there are some map flags that need to be adjusted for them to appear properly.
