Dragon Ball Z was the gleaming creation of Akira Toriyama. But it wasn't his first creation. He had also created a number of hit mangas. That is also how the Dragon Ball series started. After spawning the instant hit " Dr.Slump", Toriyama began to think about other plans for a new manga-series. He began with an idea, "Dragon Boy" a short, mini-series comic that appeared in a weekly Japanese-manga magazine-which inspired him to release Dragon Ball later on. Based on the ancient Chinese fable "Pilgrimage to the West" -or "Journey to the West"(a tale involving the Monkey King (Son-Wu-kong) and his adventures with his companions Piggy, Tripitika and Sandy.
Dragon Ball was finally released. Telling a tale of a young boy with a monkey tail named Son Gokou (Son-Wu-kong in Chinese) and his adventures with the goal of obtaining the legendary Dragon Balls. Story has it that he was found by a caring old man named Gohan, after landing in a capsule from who knows where(the story in Dragon Ball Z reveals his true origins). Along the way, young Goku meets up with some life-long friends which help him find these valuable relics, such as Bulma a spunky young girl devoted to finding them, armed with hi-tech equipment, WuLong, a perverted pig that has the ability to shape-shift, Yamucha-a desert rebel fighter with an attitude and a friendly magical-cat companion(Kaos), Kame-senin, the wise old and perverted teacher of Gokou and other fighters, with a perfected martial art known as "Kame-senin style, which he passes on to all his students, and finally, Kuilin,a monk who befriends Goku at an early age where they become good friends for the whole series,(but in the beginning they are quite competitive). The "Pilaf Series" is the first installation of Dragon Ball, followed by "Red Ribbon series" and then the "Piccolo series". The series goes on until Goku grows into a young man, where he has plenty of experience in the famous "Tenkaichi-Budokai" tournaments. There is where the turning point of the series occurs, and he faces Piccolo, an awesome enemy that Goku ends up in a large battle with, and barely beats him. Piccolo supposedly splits into a good and bad form, Kame the good form and Daimou(Demon King) the evil form. It was the classic battle of good and evil.Kame eventually prevails to remain on the earth for quite some while. Dragon Ball Z begins shortly after as a TV Show, but the manga series continues from there still under the title of "Dragon Ball"
DragonBall Z was not your average TV Show and manga series, instead it involved an interesting plot that consists of a storyline where our heroes would live there lives and the plot would grow through several episodes.The sagas are based on each of these major events that occur
Super Saiyan 1
This stage was first reached by Goku in movie #6 as he fought Lord Slug. He didn't appear to be a Super Saiyan then, since his hair had a black tinge to it.
Officially, Gokou went Super Saiyan for the first time in the Furiza Saga, after Furiza killed Kuririn.
Physical description: Incredibilly increased muscle mass, and his hair turns Goldish/Yellow and Stands up.
*Note* A Saiya-jin is always born with a tail. As long as he keeps his tail, he can turn into a Oozaru (Oozaru) with a Full Moon.
Super Saiyan 2
I personally think Gokou achieved this stage in movie #4, when fighting Cooler. In movie #9, Gohan was told by Gokou to go Super Saiyan 2, he tried to go Super Saiyan 2, but reached a more incredible stage, The Ultimate Super Saiyan Level, doing so he killed Boujack and the rest of his crew. This level is incredibly more powerful than Super Saiyan. Super Saiyan was used quite frequently in movies #4-9, but Super Saiyan 2 had more immediate results. Super Saiyan proved inefficient in stopping Boujack's crew, and when Gohan reached Super Saiyan 2, he easily overpowered the aliens.
Physical description: a lot greater muscle mass than Super Saiyan, and a few more inches of blond hair also pointing up. Occasionally accompanied by zapping silver lightning (which happens everyonce in a while)
Super Saiyan 3
Gokou first achieved this level during a fight with Majin Buu. This is the most powerful level of Super Saiyan (in what I think of Super-Saiyan). Majin Buu could overpower Super Saiyan 3 Gokou, but this level did destroy lipid Janenba in movie #12. Super Saiyan 3 was also used in Dragon Ball GT, but Gokou couldn't hold it due to his little body's lack of strength, although he does reach Super-Saiyan Level 4.
Physical Description: Gokou's physical appearance is more lean and menacing looking, with about 4 and half feet of flowing blond hair and a larger muscle mass. Also in this form the Saiyan-jin is Very Quick and Fast.
*Note* Only Gokou and Gotenks have achieved this level. No other Saiyan's have achived it
Oozaru
Ahhh yes, Oozaru, when a Saiyan stares at a full moon, he/she will change into a 45-foot tall, monsterous monkey or grollia called a Were-monkey (Oozaru, in Japanese, translates to "Big Monkey). This is possibly the most powerful level under Super Saiyan 3. All Saiyan (excluding Gokou and Gohan) will be able to control themselves during this stage.

Earth Dragon Balls: These are the original set of Dragon Balls for the earth. They were created when Mr. Popo asked Kami to give life to a small dragon model he had made. Kami did this but added the Dragon Balls onto this to give humans something to work towards. But they were misused for evil often and Kami was not going to allow their existence until good people like Goku changed his mind.
1. All 7 balls must be gathered in the same spot

4. After the wish is made, Shenron will disappear
5. The Dragonballs will turn to stone for 1 year and scatter themselves around the Earth

9. You can revive any number of people, provided they died that relates their deaths
10. Shenron cannot revive anyone who has been revived before

New Earth Dragonballs: After Kami and Piccolo re-merge in the Cell Saga, the Dragonballs become lacking in identifiable function, as they are linked to life force of the creator (Kami). But when Goku goes to New Namek to fetch the new Guardian of the Earth, Dende, he is given the power of the Earth's Dragonballs. Dende's Shenron is identical to Kami's as he used the original model of Mr. Popo, from which Shenron was originally created. He proceeds to power them up so they can grant 2 wishes instead of 1, then between the Cell and Buu Sagas, he powers them up further so they can grant 3 wishes. These balls look identical to Kami's the picture is just a different artist.

Namekian Dragon Balls: The original set of Dragonballs which originate from the Planet Namek. They were created from the dreams of Guru, hence Porunga's meaning to be "lloyd of Dreams" in Namekian. The Dragon Balls on Namek are much larger than the ones on Earth due to their increased power. Also Porunga is many times larger than Shenron for the same reason. Dragon Radar: The Dragon Radar was built by Bulma and is used to find the location of the Dragon Balls whether they're moving, not moving, under water, anywhere that they might be the Dragon Radar can find them. It has a single button on top, it is used to turn it on or off as well as zooming in on the Dragon Ball or zooming out. This is not used to find the Dragons even though its called a Dragon Radar.
Goku
###Goku is the hero of Dragonball Z, the most powerful warrior on earth and the first to become Super Saiyan in over 1000 years. When the Saiyans arrive, Goku learns the mysterious secret of his own past: he is a Saiyan formerly named Kakarot. Goku was sent to Earth as a baby to grow up and destroy the planet, but a head injury as a child scrambled Goku?s programming. Instead of growing up to become a destructive super-warrior, he became innocent and pure of heart, fighting for good.
Goku is peaceful, good natured, honest, loving to his family and friends, loyal, trustworthy, brave. If he has a weakness, it is his trusting nature. He always finds the "good" in people when others don't see it, though Goku?s enemies sometimes take advantage of his naive trust. He originally trained under Master Roshi and wears his symbol until he trains under King Kai, whose symbol he wears. Goku grows up and marries Chi-Chi. Together they have two sons: Gohan and Goten.
Vegeta
###Vegeta is a powerful Saiyan. He is a "Super Elitist" and a prince, the son of King Vegeta, past ruler of the Saiyans. Vegeta and his comrade Nappa are two of the last surviving Saiyans. They come to Earth to destroy all life and sell the planet. Though physically smaller than Goku, Vegeta can power up to unbelievable levels destroying entire planets. He is a fierce rival of Goku's, striving always to seek power levels as high or higher than Goku and to reach Super Saiyan level. Ambitious and determined, Vegeta wants the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. He is determined to destroy Frieza. After the Namek Saga, he fights on the side of the good guys and becomes the father of Trunks.
Piccolo
###Goku's one time archenemy, Piccolo is the second strongest being on the Earth, born as a concentration of Kami's negative spirits. He has powerful energy blasts, can split into two or four separate entities, and has the ability to regenerate limbs. He is often seen in a white cape. Originally from the far away planet Namek (although Piccolo doesn't know this for a long time), Piccolo starts off fighting Goku to rule the world. When the Saiyans arrive he joins forces with Goku. At first it is an uneasy alliance, but as the story unfolds, their bond becomes stronger.
While training Goku's son, Gohan for the upcoming battle against the Saiyans, Piccolo develops a special bond with Gohan. Through Gohan, the only person who has ever been a friend to him, Piccolo starts changing character for the better. He ends up sacrificing his own life to save Gohan.
While battling with Frieza, Piccolo merges with Nail, the last of the Namekain warriors and former guardian of Guru. From this merging, Piccolo gains Nail's ancient Namek fighting style, greatly enhancing Piccolo's powers and abilities.
Gohan
###Named after his adoptive grandfather, Gohan is Goku and Chi-Chi's eldest son. He is idealistic, good, and pure like his father. Gohan reveals his tremendous fighting potential when the earth is threatened. His heritage as part Saiyan and part human make him stronger than if he were of one race alone.
With Goku's departure to the next dimension and the eminent arrival of Saiyans stronger than Raditz, Gohan is key to the survival of Earth. Thus Piccolo, a former enemy of his father, joins forces with the good guys and trains Gohan for the upcoming battle. Over time, Gohan becomes friends with Piccolo, looks up to Piccolo, and even wears similar clothing.
Although initially a wimp, Gohan's training in the wilderness and subsequent fighting make him both brave and loyal. Following the fight on Earth, Gohan is determined to go with Bulma and Krillin to Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls and help out his friends on Earth, especially since he feels he let them down during the fight on Earth.
Goten
###Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, and is Gohan's little brother. Goten loves to train in martial arts. He quickly develops incredibly strong powers (he naturally goes Super Saiyan) that enable him to fight alongside the adults in their mission to defend earth.
Goten's best friend is Trunks who is approximately one year older. They are often seen together. Goten goofs around when he fights, especially when fused with Trunks as Gotenks, where he makes up countless silly-named attacks.
Pure of heart, he'll quickly jump into danger to help his friends and family.
Trunks
###Trunks is the son of Bulma - a headstrong, technical genius - and Vegeta - one of the most powerful fighters in the Dragonball Z universe. His exact age is not certain, but he first appears in Dragonball Z in his mid to late teens. He is from the future and has witnessed a threat to Earth which cannot be stopped in that time. He has come back in time to try to save the Earth of his time, only to find our heroes in Earth facing their own peril.
Much to the amazement of our friends, Trunks immediately turns Super Saiyan and defeats Frieza and King Cold. He gives Goku medicine to prevent his death from heart disease and tells them of Earth's coming predicament. The Z Fighters immediately go into training, and Trunks returns to his own time.
Trunks returns to our timeline again in the Android Saga to ensure that the Androids do arrive on Earth. He is also born during this saga, so we have the opportunity to see him both as a teenager and a baby at the same time. He continues to exist as a boy and a teen until the end of the Cell Saga, when the older Trunks returns to his original timeline.
Krillin

Cell
###The most dangerous of all Dr. Gero's creations, Cell, was created in Dr. Gero's lab as a genetic experiment. He comes complete with a self-destruct feature, a scorpion-like tail that opens up to absorb the energy of his opponents, and instructions to wreak revenge on the Androids which caused Dr. Gero's downfall. Cell contains the DNA of the mightiest warriors of the universe including Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta. Possessing the DNA of these great warriors, Cell is able to fight with their attacks. With these great forces combined Cell is an almost invincible being.
One of his greatest advantages is being able to regenerate himself at any given time from even the smallest component of himself. We discover this in Dragonball Z when the good guys believe Cell is destroyed, only to find out that a brain cell has survived. From this cell, Cell regenerates himself and appears out of nowhere once again threatening Earth. One of Cell's only weak points is that his energy is finite. He gains power by draining the energy of his enemies using his scorpion-like tail to do so. Cell has three forms: the imperfect form in which we first see him, the second stage of Cell, and the final or Perfect Cell. He reaches Cell Stage Two after absorbing Android 17. When Android 18 is consumed, Cell changes into his third and most powerful form: Perfect Cell. Cell can and does create smaller versions of himself.
Buu
###Buu, or Majin Buu, was conjured into existence long ago by the evil wizard Bibidi. A powerful fighter who has destroyed many planets in his past, Buu?s body is ?rubbery? giving him great advantage in battles. He has now been unleashed by Bibidi?s son, Babidi, to destroy Earth.
Like many of the bad guys in Dragonball Z, Buu exists in multiple forms. He is often called simply Buu. This season we will see Majin Buu as the child-like Buu (sometimes called Majin Buu or simply Buu), in his more evil being called Evil Buu, and in an even more powerful form called Super Buu. He is in his Evil Buu form very briefly before transforming to Super Buu. He is in his Super Buu form only for the last episode of the Fall 2001 USA season. The following season Buu will be seen in his Super Buu form and in his final form often referred to as Kid Buu.
Child-like, Majin Buu does not have a strongly developed sense of good and bad. He agrees to stop hurting people when he discovers it bothers Hercule. Unfortunately the threat to Earth is not over. For from Buu, Evil Buu emerges.
Frieza
###Haughty, malicious, seemingly invincible and power-hungry with absolutely no compassion, Frieza is feared as the most powerful and evil being in the universe with no rival being even close to his strength. Upon learning about the legendary Namekian Dragon Balls, Frieza is consumed with a desire to obtain the Dragon Balls, summon the Dragon, and gain his wish for immortality. Then he can rule the entire universe, unrivaled, forever. Understanding the capability of the Saiyans as fighters, he eliminates their planet to destroy the competition. In his search for the Dragon Balls on Namek, he ruthlessly and predictably eliminates all who get in his way. The very mention of his name strikes dread and fear across the universe.
Zarbon and Dodoria are Frieza's two evil right hand men. They carry out his requests promptly and without question, knowing Frieza's character too well. Frieza also employs the legendary Ginyu Force to take care of his business.
Frieza is a lizard-like creature who can shape-shift into four stages of forms, with each form more powerful than the last. In his first form, Frieza is in a space pod. In the second form, Frieza has two horns on his head and his body is larger. In the third form, Frieza is in his biggest body and his back is bent. The fourth form is the perfect form; he is in a small body with no angle on his body. He has a fifth appearance. After being beaten by Goku, Frieza is rebuilt with robotic parts, and once again poses a threat to our heroes.
Babidi
###Babidi, magical creature with unusual powers, wishes to bring Majin Buu back to life. Babidi uses his powers to control people by bringing out the evil in people?s hearts.
His father, Bibidi, was the creator of Buu. He has an underground ship with three levels. The third and lowest level houses the "balled-up" Buu (Buu in his cocoon). Babidi, by draining the fighters on Earth, seeks to gain enough energy to break Buu?s seal and "re-hatch" him.
Raditz
###A strong, powerful, Saiyan warrior, Raditz comes to Earth originally to look for Goku, his brother. Angry and intolerant, Raditz can't understand why it has taken so long for his little brother to destroy the helpless humans. Ruthless like all the Saiyans, Raditz plays on Goku's emotions by lying to his him to avoid being destroyed. The minute he is saved however, he instantly turns on Goku. His last words reveal that two even more powerful Saiyans will be coming to Earth in one year in order to destroy it. And, unfortunately, his Scouter (technologically advanced eyepiece which gives location and power rating of opponents) transmits information about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans.
Fusion Dance: Basically just what the name suggests, a fusion in which two fighters perform a dance to fuse into one being. Goku learned this style of fusion during the five years of inactivity between the end of the Cell Game and before Gohan's start at Orange Star High School. The fusers must be similar in size, build, and powerlevel (The stronger fighter can simply just lower his powerlevel to match the fighter with the lower powerlevel to meet this requirement). Any mistakes in performing the dance can cause defective fusions. This form of fusion only lasts for exactly 30 minutes, so after this time period the two fighters de-fuse into their own two beings. It hasn't been successful to break the fusion before or after the 30 minute time period.
Requirements/Conditions:
- The two fighters must be similar in size, build, and power
- Must perform the dance correctly for a successful fusion
- Fusion only lasts for 30 minutes
Porterra Fusion: The fusion technique of choice for Kaioushins, this
technique is allegedly hundreds of times better than that of the "Fusion Dance". The two fighters that wish to fuse had to wear an earing, each having one in the opposite ear of the other fighter. After this is done, they can fuse into one being (Which in prospective causes the final being to have 2 earings on). This fusion was meant to be permanent, but unexpected conditions caused the break-up of the two fusers.
Requirements/Conditions:
- A set of earings (one per fighter)
- Both fighters must wear their earings on opposing ears
- Each person can ONLY have one such fusion in a lifetime
- The effects of the fusion is permanent (supposedly)
Namekian Fusion: The way of fusing by the Namekians. This is a way for 2 Namekians to fuse into one being. No special objects or performances are needed for this type of fusion. The fuser just has to place his hand on the person that he wishes to fuse with (being that the person being fused allows the act), and they just merge into one. There are no set time periods for this type of fusion, and the two fighers can de-fuse at any point of time.
Requirements/Conditions:
- The fuser's must be Namekians (makes some sense?)
- Both fusers must agree to fusing to eachother
- Size and Powerlevel has no effect on the fusing

Kronix` wrote : Dragon Ball Z was the gleaming creation of Akira Toriyama. But it wasn't his first creation. He had also created a number of hit mangas. That is also how the Dragon Ball series started. After spawning the instant hit " Dr.Slump", Toriyama began to think about other plans for a new manga-series. He began with an idea, "Dragon Boy" a short, mini-series comic that appeared in a weekly Japanese-manga magazine-which inspired him to release Dragon Ball later on. Based on the ancient Chinese fable "Pilgrimage to the West" -or "Journey to the West"(a tale involving the Monkey King (Son-Wu-kong) and his adventures with his companions Piggy, Tripitika and Sandy.
Dragon Ball was finally released. Telling a tale of a young boy with a monkey tail named Son Gokou (Son-Wu-kong in Chinese) and his adventures with the goal of obtaining the legendary Dragon Balls. Story has it that he was found by a caring old man named Gohan, after landing in a capsule from who knows where(the story in Dragon Ball Z reveals his true origins). Along the way, young Goku meets up with some life-long friends which help him find these valuable relics, such as Bulma a spunky young girl devoted to finding them, armed with hi-tech equipment, WuLong, a perverted pig that has the ability to shape-shift, Yamucha-a desert rebel fighter with an attitude and a friendly magical-cat companion(Kaos), Kame-senin, the wise old and perverted teacher of Gokou and other fighters, with a perfected martial art known as "Kame-senin style, which he passes on to all his students, and finally, Kuilin,a monk who befriends Goku at an early age where they become good friends for the whole series,(but in the beginning they are quite competitive). The "Pilaf Series" is the first installation of Dragon Ball, followed by "Red Ribbon series" and then the "Piccolo series". The series goes on until Goku grows into a young man, where he has plenty of experience in the famous "Tenkaichi-Budokai" tournaments. There is where the turning point of the series occurs, and he faces Piccolo, an awesome enemy that Goku ends up in a large battle with, and barely beats him. Piccolo supposedly splits into a good and bad form, Kame the good form and Daimou(Demon King) the evil form. It was the classic battle of good and evil.Kame eventually prevails to remain on the earth for quite some while. Dragon Ball Z begins shortly after as a TV Show, but the manga series continues from there still under the title of "Dragon Ball"
DragonBall Z was not your average TV Show and manga series, instead it involved an interesting plot that consists of a storyline where our heroes would live there lives and the plot would grow through several episodes.The sagas are based on each of these major events that occur
Super Saiyan 1
This stage was first reached by Goku in movie #6 as he fought Lord Slug. He didn't appear to be a Super Saiyan then, since his hair had a black tinge to it.
Officially, Gokou went Super Saiyan for the first time in the Furiza Saga, after Furiza killed Kuririn.
Physical description: Incredibilly increased muscle mass, and his hair turns Goldish/Yellow and Stands up.
*Note* A Saiya-jin is always born with a tail. As long as he keeps his tail, he can turn into a Oozaru (Oozaru) with a Full Moon.
Super Saiyan 2
I personally think Gokou achieved this stage in movie #4, when fighting Cooler. In movie #9, Gohan was told by Gokou to go Super Saiyan 2, he tried to go Super Saiyan 2, but reached a more incredible stage, The Ultimate Super Saiyan Level, doing so he killed Boujack and the rest of his crew. This level is incredibly more powerful than Super Saiyan. Super Saiyan was used quite frequently in movies #4-9, but Super Saiyan 2 had more immediate results. Super Saiyan proved inefficient in stopping Boujack's crew, and when Gohan reached Super Saiyan 2, he easily overpowered the aliens.
Physical description: a lot greater muscle mass than Super Saiyan, and a few more inches of blond hair also pointing up. Occasionally accompanied by zapping silver lightning (which happens everyonce in a while)
Super Saiyan 3
Gokou first achieved this level during a fight with Majin Buu. This is the most powerful level of Super Saiyan (in what I think of Super-Saiyan). Majin Buu could overpower Super Saiyan 3 Gokou, but this level did destroy lipid Janenba in movie #12. Super Saiyan 3 was also used in Dragon Ball GT, but Gokou couldn't hold it due to his little body's lack of strength, although he does reach Super-Saiyan Level 4.
Physical Description: Gokou's physical appearance is more lean and menacing looking, with about 4 and half feet of flowing blond hair and a larger muscle mass. Also in this form the Saiyan-jin is Very Quick and Fast.
*Note* Only Gokou and Gotenks have achieved this level. No other Saiyan's have achived it
Oozaru
Ahhh yes, Oozaru, when a Saiyan stares at a full moon, he/she will change into a 45-foot tall, monsterous monkey or grollia called a Were-monkey (Oozaru, in Japanese, translates to "Big Monkey). This is possibly the most powerful level under Super Saiyan 3. All Saiyan (excluding Gokou and Gohan) will be able to control themselves during this stage.

New Earth Dragonballs: After Kami and Piccolo re-merge in the Cell Saga, the Dragonballs become lacking in identifiable function, as they are linked to life force of the creator (Kami). But when Goku goes to New Namek to fetch the new Guardian of the Earth, Dende, he is given the power of the Earth's Dragonballs. Dende's Shenron is identical to Kami's as he used the original model of Mr. Popo, from which Shenron was originally created. He proceeds to power them up so they can grant 2 wishes instead of 1, then between the Cell and Buu Sagas, he powers them up further so they can grant 3 wishes. These balls look identical to Kami's the picture is just a different artist.

Namekian Dragon Balls: The original set of Dragonballs which originate from the Planet Namek. They were created from the dreams of Guru, hence Porunga's meaning to be "lloyd of Dreams" in Namekian. The Dragon Balls on Namek are much larger than the ones on Earth due to their increased power. Also Porunga is many times larger than Shenron for the same reason. Dragon Radar: The Dragon Radar was built by Bulma and is used to find the location of the Dragon Balls whether they're moving, not moving, under water, anywhere that they might be the Dragon Radar can find them. It has a single button on top, it is used to turn it on or off as well as zooming in on the Dragon Ball or zooming out. This is not used to find the Dragons even though its called a Dragon Radar.
Goku
###Goku is the hero of Dragonball Z, the most powerful warrior on earth and the first to become Super Saiyan in over 1000 years. When the Saiyans arrive, Goku learns the mysterious secret of his own past: he is a Saiyan formerly named Kakarot. Goku was sent to Earth as a baby to grow up and destroy the planet, but a head injury as a child scrambled Goku?s programming. Instead of growing up to become a destructive super-warrior, he became innocent and pure of heart, fighting for good.
Goku is peaceful, good natured, honest, loving to his family and friends, loyal, trustworthy, brave. If he has a weakness, it is his trusting nature. He always finds the "good" in people when others don't see it, though Goku?s enemies sometimes take advantage of his naive trust. He originally trained under Master Roshi and wears his symbol until he trains under King Kai, whose symbol he wears. Goku grows up and marries Chi-Chi. Together they have two sons: Gohan and Goten.
Vegeta
###Vegeta is a powerful Saiyan. He is a "Super Elitist" and a prince, the son of King Vegeta, past ruler of the Saiyans. Vegeta and his comrade Nappa are two of the last surviving Saiyans. They come to Earth to destroy all life and sell the planet. Though physically smaller than Goku, Vegeta can power up to unbelievable levels destroying entire planets. He is a fierce rival of Goku's, striving always to seek power levels as high or higher than Goku and to reach Super Saiyan level. Ambitious and determined, Vegeta wants the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. He is determined to destroy Frieza. After the Namek Saga, he fights on the side of the good guys and becomes the father of Trunks.
Piccolo
###Goku's one time archenemy, Piccolo is the second strongest being on the Earth, born as a concentration of Kami's negative spirits. He has powerful energy blasts, can split into two or four separate entities, and has the ability to regenerate limbs. He is often seen in a white cape. Originally from the far away planet Namek (although Piccolo doesn't know this for a long time), Piccolo starts off fighting Goku to rule the world. When the Saiyans arrive he joins forces with Goku. At first it is an uneasy alliance, but as the story unfolds, their bond becomes stronger.
While training Goku's son, Gohan for the upcoming battle against the Saiyans, Piccolo develops a special bond with Gohan. Through Gohan, the only person who has ever been a friend to him, Piccolo starts changing character for the better. He ends up sacrificing his own life to save Gohan.
While battling with Frieza, Piccolo merges with Nail, the last of the Namekain warriors and former guardian of Guru. From this merging, Piccolo gains Nail's ancient Namek fighting style, greatly enhancing Piccolo's powers and abilities.
Gohan
###Named after his adoptive grandfather, Gohan is Goku and Chi-Chi's eldest son. He is idealistic, good, and pure like his father. Gohan reveals his tremendous fighting potential when the earth is threatened. His heritage as part Saiyan and part human make him stronger than if he were of one race alone.
With Goku's departure to the next dimension and the eminent arrival of Saiyans stronger than Raditz, Gohan is key to the survival of Earth. Thus Piccolo, a former enemy of his father, joins forces with the good guys and trains Gohan for the upcoming battle. Over time, Gohan becomes friends with Piccolo, looks up to Piccolo, and even wears similar clothing.
Although initially a wimp, Gohan's training in the wilderness and subsequent fighting make him both brave and loyal. Following the fight on Earth, Gohan is determined to go with Bulma and Krillin to Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls and help out his friends on Earth, especially since he feels he let them down during the fight on Earth.
Goten
###Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, and is Gohan's little brother. Goten loves to train in martial arts. He quickly develops incredibly strong powers (he naturally goes Super Saiyan) that enable him to fight alongside the adults in their mission to defend earth.
Goten's best friend is Trunks who is approximately one year older. They are often seen together. Goten goofs around when he fights, especially when fused with Trunks as Gotenks, where he makes up countless silly-named attacks.
Pure of heart, he'll quickly jump into danger to help his friends and family.
Trunks
###Trunks is the son of Bulma - a headstrong, technical genius - and Vegeta - one of the most powerful fighters in the Dragonball Z universe. His exact age is not certain, but he first appears in Dragonball Z in his mid to late teens. He is from the future and has witnessed a threat to Earth which cannot be stopped in that time. He has come back in time to try to save the Earth of his time, only to find our heroes in Earth facing their own peril.
Much to the amazement of our friends, Trunks immediately turns Super Saiyan and defeats Frieza and King Cold. He gives Goku medicine to prevent his death from heart disease and tells them of Earth's coming predicament. The Z Fighters immediately go into training, and Trunks returns to his own time.
Trunks returns to our timeline again in the Android Saga to ensure that the Androids do arrive on Earth. He is also born during this saga, so we have the opportunity to see him both as a teenager and a baby at the same time. He continues to exist as a boy and a teen until the end of the Cell Saga, when the older Trunks returns to his original timeline.
Krillin

Cell
###The most dangerous of all Dr. Gero's creations, Cell, was created in Dr. Gero's lab as a genetic experiment. He comes complete with a self-destruct feature, a scorpion-like tail that opens up to absorb the energy of his opponents, and instructions to wreak revenge on the Androids which caused Dr. Gero's downfall. Cell contains the DNA of the mightiest warriors of the universe including Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta. Possessing the DNA of these great warriors, Cell is able to fight with their attacks. With these great forces combined Cell is an almost invincible being.
One of his greatest advantages is being able to regenerate himself at any given time from even the smallest component of himself. We discover this in Dragonball Z when the good guys believe Cell is destroyed, only to find out that a brain cell has survived. From this cell, Cell regenerates himself and appears out of nowhere once again threatening Earth. One of Cell's only weak points is that his energy is finite. He gains power by draining the energy of his enemies using his scorpion-like tail to do so. Cell has three forms: the imperfect form in which we first see him, the second stage of Cell, and the final or Perfect Cell. He reaches Cell Stage Two after absorbing Android 17. When Android 18 is consumed, Cell changes into his third and most powerful form: Perfect Cell. Cell can and does create smaller versions of himself.
Buu
###Buu, or Majin Buu, was conjured into existence long ago by the evil wizard Bibidi. A powerful fighter who has destroyed many planets in his past, Buu?s body is ?rubbery? giving him great advantage in battles. He has now been unleashed by Bibidi?s son, Babidi, to destroy Earth.
Like many of the bad guys in Dragonball Z, Buu exists in multiple forms. He is often called simply Buu. This season we will see Majin Buu as the child-like Buu (sometimes called Majin Buu or simply Buu), in his more evil being called Evil Buu, and in an even more powerful form called Super Buu. He is in his Evil Buu form very briefly before transforming to Super Buu. He is in his Super Buu form only for the last episode of the Fall 2001 USA season. The following season Buu will be seen in his Super Buu form and in his final form often referred to as Kid Buu.
Child-like, Majin Buu does not have a strongly developed sense of good and bad. He agrees to stop hurting people when he discovers it bothers Hercule. Unfortunately the threat to Earth is not over. For from Buu, Evil Buu emerges.
Frieza
###Haughty, malicious, seemingly invincible and power-hungry with absolutely no compassion, Frieza is feared as the most powerful and evil being in the universe with no rival being even close to his strength. Upon learning about the legendary Namekian Dragon Balls, Frieza is consumed with a desire to obtain the Dragon Balls, summon the Dragon, and gain his wish for immortality. Then he can rule the entire universe, unrivaled, forever. Understanding the capability of the Saiyans as fighters, he eliminates their planet to destroy the competition. In his search for the Dragon Balls on Namek, he ruthlessly and predictably eliminates all who get in his way. The very mention of his name strikes dread and fear across the universe.
Zarbon and Dodoria are Frieza's two evil right hand men. They carry out his requests promptly and without question, knowing Frieza's character too well. Frieza also employs the legendary Ginyu Force to take care of his business.
Frieza is a lizard-like creature who can shape-shift into four stages of forms, with each form more powerful than the last. In his first form, Frieza is in a space pod. In the second form, Frieza has two horns on his head and his body is larger. In the third form, Frieza is in his biggest body and his back is bent. The fourth form is the perfect form; he is in a small body with no angle on his body. He has a fifth appearance. After being beaten by Goku, Frieza is rebuilt with robotic parts, and once again poses a threat to our heroes.
Babidi
###Babidi, magical creature with unusual powers, wishes to bring Majin Buu back to life. Babidi uses his powers to control people by bringing out the evil in people?s hearts.
His father, Bibidi, was the creator of Buu. He has an underground ship with three levels. The third and lowest level houses the "balled-up" Buu (Buu in his cocoon). Babidi, by draining the fighters on Earth, seeks to gain enough energy to break Buu?s seal and "re-hatch" him.
Raditz
###A strong, powerful, Saiyan warrior, Raditz comes to Earth originally to look for Goku, his brother. Angry and intolerant, Raditz can't understand why it has taken so long for his little brother to destroy the helpless humans. Ruthless like all the Saiyans, Raditz plays on Goku's emotions by lying to his him to avoid being destroyed. The minute he is saved however, he instantly turns on Goku. His last words reveal that two even more powerful Saiyans will be coming to Earth in one year in order to destroy it. And, unfortunately, his Scouter (technologically advanced eyepiece which gives location and power rating of opponents) transmits information about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans.
Fusion Dance: Basically just what the name suggests, a fusion in which two fighters perform a dance to fuse into one being. Goku learned this style of fusion during the five years of inactivity between the end of the Cell Game and before Gohan's start at Orange Star High School. The fusers must be similar in size, build, and powerlevel (The stronger fighter can simply just lower his powerlevel to match the fighter with the lower powerlevel to meet this requirement). Any mistakes in performing the dance can cause defective fusions. This form of fusion only lasts for exactly 30 minutes, so after this time period the two fighters de-fuse into their own two beings. It hasn't been successful to break the fusion before or after the 30 minute time period.

Porterra Fusion: The fusion technique of choice for Kaioushins, this
technique is allegedly hundreds of times better than that of the "Fusion Dance". The two fighters that wish to fuse had to wear an earing, each having one in the opposite ear of the other fighter. After this is done, they can fuse into one being (Which in prospective causes the final being to have 2 earings on). This fusion was meant to be permanent, but unexpected conditions caused the break-up of the two fusers.
Requirements/Conditions:
- A set of earings (one per fighter)
- Both fighters must wear their earings on opposing ears
- Each person can ONLY have one such fusion in a lifetime
- The effects of the fusion is permanent (supposedly)
Namekian Fusion: The way of fusing by the Namekians. This is a way for 2 Namekians to fuse into one being. No special objects or performances are needed for this type of fusion. The fuser just has to place his hand on the person that he wishes to fuse with (being that the person being fused allows the act), and they just merge into one. There are no set time periods for this type of fusion, and the two fighers can de-fuse at any point of time.
Requirements/Conditions:
- The fuser's must be Namekians (makes some sense?)
- Both fusers must agree to fusing to eachother
- Size and Powerlevel has no effect on the fusing

Along the way, young Goku meets up with some life-long friends which help him find these valuable relics, such as Bulma a spunky young girl devoted to finding them, armed with hi-tech equipment, WuLong, a perverted pig that has the ability to shape-shift, Yamucha-a desert rebel fighter with an attitude and a friendly magical-cat companion(Kaos), Kame-senin, the wise old and perverted teacher of Gokou and other fighters, with a perfected martial art known as "Kame-senin style, which he passes on to all his students, and finally, Kuilin,a monk who befriends Goku at an early age where they become good friends for the whole series,(but in the beginning they are quite competitive). The "Pilaf Series" is the first installation of Dragon Ball, followed by "Red Ribbon series" and then the "Piccolo series". The series goes on until Goku grows into a young man, where he has plenty of experience in the famous "Tenkaichi-Budokai" tournaments. There is where the turning point of the series occurs, and he faces Piccolo, an awesome enemy that Goku ends up in a large battle with, and barely beats him. Piccolo supposedly splits into a good and bad form, Kame the good form and Daimou(Demon King) the evil form. It was the classic battle of good and evil.Kame eventually prevails to remain on the earth for quite some while. Dragon Ball Z begins shortly after as a TV Show, but the manga series continues from there still under the title of "Dragon Ball"
DragonBall Z was not your average TV Show and manga series, instead it involved an interesting plot that consists of a storyline where our heroes would live there lives and the plot would grow through several episodes.The sagas are based on each of these major events that occur
Super Saiyan 1
This stage was first reached by Goku in movie #6 as he fought Lord Slug. He didn't appear to be a Super Saiyan then, since his hair had a black tinge to it.
Officially, Gokou went Super Saiyan for the first time in the Furiza Saga, after Furiza killed Kuririn.
Physical description: Incredibilly increased muscle mass, and his hair turns Goldish/Yellow and Stands up.
*Note* A Saiya-jin is always born with a tail. As long as he keeps his tail, he can turn into a Oozaru (Oozaru) with a Full Moon.
Super Saiyan 2
I personally think Gokou achieved this stage in movie #4, when fighting Cooler. In movie #9, Gohan was told by Gokou to go Super Saiyan 2, he tried to go Super Saiyan 2, but reached a more incredible stage, The Ultimate Super Saiyan Level, doing so he killed Boujack and the rest of his crew. This level is incredibly more powerful than Super Saiyan. Super Saiyan was used quite frequently in movies #4-9, but Super Saiyan 2 had more immediate results. Super Saiyan proved inefficient in stopping Boujack's crew, and when Gohan reached Super Saiyan 2, he easily overpowered the aliens.
Physical description: a lot greater muscle mass than Super Saiyan, and a few more inches of blond hair also pointing up. Occasionally accompanied by zapping silver lightning (which happens everyonce in a while)
Super Saiyan 3
Gokou first achieved this level during a fight with Majin Buu. This is the most powerful level of Super Saiyan (in what I think of Super-Saiyan). Majin Buu could overpower Super Saiyan 3 Gokou, but this level did destroy lipid Janenba in movie #12. Super Saiyan 3 was also used in Dragon Ball GT, but Gokou couldn't hold it due to his little body's lack of strength, although he does reach Super-Saiyan Level 4.
Physical Description: Gokou's physical appearance is more lean and menacing looking, with about 4 and half feet of flowing blond hair and a larger muscle mass. Also in this form the Saiyan-jin is Very Quick and Fast.
*Note* Only Gokou and Gotenks have achieved this level. No other Saiyan's have achived it
Oozaru
Ahhh yes, Oozaru, when a Saiyan stares at a full moon, he/she will change into a 45-foot tall, monsterous monkey or grollia called a Were-monkey (Oozaru, in Japanese, translates to "Big Monkey). This is possibly the most powerful level under Super Saiyan 3. All Saiyan (excluding Gokou and Gohan) will be able to control themselves during this stage.

New Earth Dragonballs: After Kami and Piccolo re-merge in the Cell Saga, the Dragonballs become lacking in identifiable function, as they are linked to life force of the creator (Kami). But when Goku goes to New Namek to fetch the new Guardian of the Earth, Dende, he is given the power of the Earth's Dragonballs. Dende's Shenron is identical to Kami's as he used the original model of Mr. Popo, from which Shenron was originally created. He proceeds to power them up so they can grant 2 wishes instead of 1, then between the Cell and Buu Sagas, he powers them up further so they can grant 3 wishes. These balls look identical to Kami's the picture is just a different artist.

Namekian Dragon Balls: The original set of Dragonballs which originate from the Planet Namek. They were created from the dreams of Guru, hence Porunga's meaning to be "lloyd of Dreams" in Namekian. The Dragon Balls on Namek are much larger than the ones on Earth due to their increased power. Also Porunga is many times larger than Shenron for the same reason. Dragon Radar: The Dragon Radar was built by Bulma and is used to find the location of the Dragon Balls whether they're moving, not moving, under water, anywhere that they might be the Dragon Radar can find them. It has a single button on top, it is used to turn it on or off as well as zooming in on the Dragon Ball or zooming out. This is not used to find the Dragons even though its called a Dragon Radar.
Goku

He originally trained under Master Roshi and wears his symbol until he trains under King Kai, whose symbol he wears. Goku grows up and marries Chi-Chi. Together they have two sons: Gohan and Goten.
Vegeta
###Vegeta is a powerful Saiyan. He is a "Super Elitist" and a prince, the son of King Vegeta, past ruler of the Saiyans. Vegeta and his comrade Nappa are two of the last surviving Saiyans. They come to Earth to destroy all life and sell the planet. Though physically smaller than Goku, Vegeta can power up to unbelievable levels destroying entire planets. He is a fierce rival of Goku's, striving always to seek power levels as high or higher than Goku and to reach Super Saiyan level. Ambitious and determined, Vegeta wants the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. He is determined to destroy Frieza. After the Namek Saga, he fights on the side of the good guys and becomes the father of Trunks.
Piccolo
###Goku's one time archenemy, Piccolo is the second strongest being on the Earth, born as a concentration of Kami's negative spirits. He has powerful energy blasts, can split into two or four separate entities, and has the ability to regenerate limbs. He is often seen in a white cape. Originally from the far away planet Namek (although Piccolo doesn't know this for a long time), Piccolo starts off fighting Goku to rule the world. When the Saiyans arrive he joins forces with Goku. At first it is an uneasy alliance, but as the story unfolds, their bond becomes stronger.
While training Goku's son, Gohan for the upcoming battle against the Saiyans, Piccolo develops a special bond with Gohan. Through Gohan, the only person who has ever been a friend to him, Piccolo starts changing character for the better. He ends up sacrificing his own life to save Gohan.
While battling with Frieza, Piccolo merges with Nail, the last of the Namekain warriors and former guardian of Guru. From this merging, Piccolo gains Nail's ancient Namek fighting style, greatly enhancing Piccolo's powers and abilities.
Gohan
###Named after his adoptive grandfather, Gohan is Goku and Chi-Chi's eldest son. He is idealistic, good, and pure like his father. Gohan reveals his tremendous fighting potential when the earth is threatened. His heritage as part Saiyan and part human make him stronger than if he were of one race alone.
With Goku's departure to the next dimension and the eminent arrival of Saiyans stronger than Raditz, Gohan is key to the survival of Earth. Thus Piccolo, a former enemy of his father, joins forces with the good guys and trains Gohan for the upcoming battle. Over time, Gohan becomes friends with Piccolo, looks up to Piccolo, and even wears similar clothing.
Although initially a wimp, Gohan's training in the wilderness and subsequent fighting make him both brave and loyal. Following the fight on Earth, Gohan is determined to go with Bulma and Krillin to Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls and help out his friends on Earth, especially since he feels he let them down during the fight on Earth.
Goten
###Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, and is Gohan's little brother. Goten loves to train in martial arts. He quickly develops incredibly strong powers (he naturally goes Super Saiyan) that enable him to fight alongside the adults in their mission to defend earth.
Goten's best friend is Trunks who is approximately one year older. They are often seen together. Goten goofs around when he fights, especially when fused with Trunks as Gotenks, where he makes up countless silly-named attacks.
Pure of heart, he'll quickly jump into danger to help his friends and family.
Trunks
###Trunks is the son of Bulma - a headstrong, technical genius - and Vegeta - one of the most powerful fighters in the Dragonball Z universe. His exact age is not certain, but he first appears in Dragonball Z in his mid to late teens. He is from the future and has witnessed a threat to Earth which cannot be stopped in that time. He has come back in time to try to save the Earth of his time, only to find our heroes in Earth facing their own peril.
Much to the amazement of our friends, Trunks immediately turns Super Saiyan and defeats Frieza and King Cold. He gives Goku medicine to prevent his death from heart disease and tells them of Earth's coming predicament. The Z Fighters immediately go into training, and Trunks returns to his own time.
Trunks returns to our timeline again in the Android Saga to ensure that the Androids do arrive on Earth. He is also born during this saga, so we have the opportunity to see him both as a teenager and a baby at the same time. He continues to exist as a boy and a teen until the end of the Cell Saga, when the older Trunks returns to his original timeline.
Krillin

Cell
###The most dangerous of all Dr. Gero's creations, Cell, was created in Dr. Gero's lab as a genetic experiment. He comes complete with a self-destruct feature, a scorpion-like tail that opens up to absorb the energy of his opponents, and instructions to wreak revenge on the Androids which caused Dr. Gero's downfall. Cell contains the DNA of the mightiest warriors of the universe including Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta. Possessing the DNA of these great warriors, Cell is able to fight with their attacks. With these great forces combined Cell is an almost invincible being.
One of his greatest advantages is being able to regenerate himself at any given time from even the smallest component of himself. We discover this in Dragonball Z when the good guys believe Cell is destroyed, only to find out that a brain cell has survived. From this cell, Cell regenerates himself and appears out of nowhere once again threatening Earth. One of Cell's only weak points is that his energy is finite. He gains power by draining the energy of his enemies using his scorpion-like tail to do so. Cell has three forms: the imperfect form in which we first see him, the second stage of Cell, and the final or Perfect Cell. He reaches Cell Stage Two after absorbing Android 17. When Android 18 is consumed, Cell changes into his third and most powerful form: Perfect Cell. Cell can and does create smaller versions of himself.
Buu
###Buu, or Majin Buu, was conjured into existence long ago by the evil wizard Bibidi. A powerful fighter who has destroyed many planets in his past, Buu?s body is ?rubbery? giving him great advantage in battles. He has now been unleashed by Bibidi?s son, Babidi, to destroy Earth.
Like many of the bad guys in Dragonball Z, Buu exists in multiple forms. He is often called simply Buu. This season we will see Majin Buu as the child-like Buu (sometimes called Majin Buu or simply Buu), in his more evil being called Evil Buu, and in an even more powerful form called Super Buu. He is in his Evil Buu form very briefly before transforming to Super Buu. He is in his Super Buu form only for the last episode of the Fall 2001 USA season. The following season Buu will be seen in his Super Buu form and in his final form often referred to as Kid Buu.
Child-like, Majin Buu does not have a strongly developed sense of good and bad. He agrees to stop hurting people when he discovers it bothers Hercule. Unfortunately the threat to Earth is not over. For from Buu, Evil Buu emerges.
Frieza
###Haughty, malicious, seemingly invincible and power-hungry with absolutely no compassion, Frieza is feared as the most powerful and evil being in the universe with no rival being even close to his strength. Upon learning about the legendary Namekian Dragon Balls, Frieza is consumed with a desire to obtain the Dragon Balls, summon the Dragon, and gain his wish for immortality. Then he can rule the entire universe, unrivaled, forever. Understanding the capability of the Saiyans as fighters, he eliminates their planet to destroy the competition. In his search for the Dragon Balls on Namek, he ruthlessly and predictably eliminates all who get in his way. The very mention of his name strikes dread and fear across the universe.
Zarbon and Dodoria are Frieza's two evil right hand men. They carry out his requests promptly and without question, knowing Frieza's character too well. Frieza also employs the legendary Ginyu Force to take care of his business.
Frieza is a lizard-like creature who can shape-shift into four stages of forms, with each form more powerful than the last. In his first form, Frieza is in a space pod. In the second form, Frieza has two horns on his head and his body is larger. In the third form, Frieza is in his biggest body and his back is bent. The fourth form is the perfect form; he is in a small body with no angle on his body. He has a fifth appearance. After being beaten by Goku, Frieza is rebuilt with robotic parts, and once again poses a threat to our heroes.
Babidi
###Babidi, magical creature with unusual powers, wishes to bring Majin Buu back to life. Babidi uses his powers to control people by bringing out the evil in people?s hearts.
His father, Bibidi, was the creator of Buu. He has an underground ship with three levels. The third and lowest level houses the "balled-up" Buu (Buu in his cocoon). Babidi, by draining the fighters on Earth, seeks to gain enough energy to break Buu?s seal and "re-hatch" him.
Raditz
###A strong, powerful, Saiyan warrior, Raditz comes to Earth originally to look for Goku, his brother. Angry and intolerant, Raditz can't understand why it has taken so long for his little brother to destroy the helpless humans. Ruthless like all the Saiyans, Raditz plays on Goku's emotions by lying to his him to avoid being destroyed. The minute he is saved however, he instantly turns on Goku. Fusion Dance: Basically just what the name suggests, a fusion in which two fighters perform a dance to fuse into one being. Goku learned this style of fusion during the five years of inactivity between the end of the Cell Game and before Gohan's start at Orange Star High School. The fusers must be similar in size, build, and powerlevel (The stronger fighter can simply just lower his powerlevel to match the fighter with the lower powerlevel to meet this requirement). Any mistakes in performing the dance can cause defective fusions. This form of fusion only lasts for exactly 30 minutes, so after this time period the two fighters de-fuse into their own two beings. It hasn't been successful to break the fusion before or after the 30 minute time period.
Requirements/Conditions:
- The two fighters must be similar in size, build, and power
- Must perform the dance correctly for a successful fusion
- Fusion only lasts for 30 minutes
Porterra Fusion: The fusion technique of choice for Kaioushins, this
technique is allegedly hundreds of times better than that of the "Fusion Dance". The two fighters that wish to fuse had to wear an earing, each having one in the opposite ear of the other fighter. After this is done, they can fuse into one being (Which in prospective causes the final being to have 2 earings on). This fusion was meant to be permanent, but unexpected conditions caused the break-up of the two fusers.
Requirements/Conditions:
- A set of earings (one per fighter)
- Both fighters must wear their earings on opposing ears
- Each person can ONLY have one such fusion in a lifetime
- The effects of the fusion is permanent (supposedly)
Namekian Fusion: The way of fusing by the Namekians. This is a way for 2 Namekians to fuse into one being. No special objects or performances are needed for this type of fusion. The fuser just has to place his hand on the person that he wishes to fuse with (being that the person being fused allows the act), and they just merge into one. There are no set time periods for this type of fusion, and the two fighers can de-fuse at any point of time.
Requirements/Conditions:
- The fuser's must be Namekians (makes some sense?)
- Both fusers must agree to fusing to eachother
- Size and Powerlevel has no effect on the fusing

This stage was first reached by Goku in movie #6 as he fought Lord Slug. He didn't appear to be a Super Saiyan then, since his hair had a black tinge to it.
Physical description: Incredibilly increased muscle mass.
Lord Slug movie wasn't Super Saiyan, was a semi Super Saiyan level, way weaker than a normal Super Saiyan, it's only a boost like Kaioken but without damage yourself.
And the muscles aren't "Incredibly increased", that's the Super Saiyan dai ni dankai or Super Saiyan dai san dankai (Ultimate Super Saiyan)
Super Saiyan 2
I personally think Gokou achieved this stage in movie #4, when fighting Cooler. In movie #9, Gohan was told by Gokou to go Super Saiyan 2, he tried to go Super Saiyan 2, but reached a more incredible stage, The Ultimate Super Saiyan Level.
Physical description: a lot greater muscle mass than Super Saiyan.
Goku was a normal Super Saiyan when he fought Cooler, the hair was clearly a Super Saiyan's, there wasn't sparks, he needed more power to get Super Saiyan 2 and it's a movie so there can't be things that change the original timeline.
The "Ultimate Super Saiyan" (that's not the real name but oh well) is the level that "Super Vegeta" had, way weaker than a Super Saiyan 2 so it's not a "more incredible stage", Gohan transformed in Super Saiyan 2 because he doesn't need Goku to tell him to transform Super Saiyan, but Super Saiyan 2, Gohan mastered Super Saiyan one after the training in the time room. And the muscles are basically the same, it's almost improbable to see the differences.
Super Saiyan 3
Gokou first achieved this level during a fight with Majin Buu. This is the most powerful level of Super Saiyan (in what I think of Super-Saiyan). Majin Buu could overpower Super Saiyan 3 Gokou.
Goku achieved this in the other world because it needs a huge power up, only in the other world you can do this since the ki will never terminate there. Gotenks was a exception because his ki was so huge. Majin Buu COULDN'T overpower Goku, when he's about going to fight kid Buu he says that he could kill lipid Buu easily, but he wanted the kids (Goten and Trunks) to learn how to fight and protect the universe once Goku and Vegeta are dead.
Oozaru
This is possibly the most powerful level under Super Saiyan 3. All Saiyan (excluding Gokou and Gohan) will be able to control themselves during this stage.
Oozaru IS weaker than a Super Saiyan, Oozaru makes you 10 times stronger, a normal Super Saiyan stage makes you 50 times stronger. And no, not all saiyans could control it (at least, it's not mentioned), only those who trained until they could, so maybe not all the saiyans followed this training.
I'll ignore the powerlevels because only some of the Saiyan saga and less from the frieza saga are right. There are no official power levels after Frieza's 2nd form or so.
