The details look good, and the drawings are pretty solid, but it seems like you may need to work on posing the characters a little. They just feel a bit stiff.
Otherwise, they're pretty good, keep it up.
(Religiou s based art doesn't bother me too much, provided it's tasteful, especially since some of the greatest paintings ever done were during the renaissance period and were religiou s in some way or another.)

Hmm, some of those are really good. You should definitely post them up on deviant art.

There's a few things you could try, but a good place to start might be with looking at how others pose their characters. By stiff, I mean the character doesn't appear to be posed naturally.
Some tips might be to keep things loose, and draw the character how a real person would look in that pose.(Maybe ask someone to pose for you to draw them)
Arms aren't always flat at a person's sides, facial expressions are rarely blank, and drawing in perspective can help as well.(By in perspective, I mean making it seem like the character is standing at a slight angle, one foot would be lower and seem to be pointing forward while the other is almost horrizontal with the page, one eye might be more visible than the other, and other things like that...)
