Those videos are actually still of the Quake 3 version (what became ZEQ2-lite). There was no video footage ever taken of ZEQ2 as it did not leave early planning and core asset / structural stages.

You have to manually launch the game from console.
The UI code wasn't focused on very much.
Missing sounds and effects in some cases. I could not gather the latest of everything.
The attacks are currently tweaked based on Dave's settings (more of a high cost,  fast firing,  Bid For Power style).
Every attack,  particle,  etc is adjustable through a powerful config system we had designed.

~ opens the console

For maps:
/map desert
/map landing

For models:
/model Vegeta
/model Goku

Old temp hud.
/cg_draw2d 1

A cheesy motion blur.
/r_motionblur 1

Volume/Self Shadows.
/cg_shadows 2
    or
/cg_shadows 3

That may look more natural too than what Dave's FOV and camera setting were set to.
/cg_fov 90
/cg_thirdpersonrange 80

Keys are set at :
WASD for movement
QE for rotations
Space for Jump
T for ascend (move up)
V for descend (move down)
F for power level raise
C for power level lower
Mouse 1 for attack
Mouse 2 is alternate attack
Scroll Wheel for attack selection
Mouse 3 for boost
Z for zanzoken.
1-5 is quick set for attack selection.
Shift toggles between walk/run while held (useful on ground)

Aside from those things I mentioned,  it gives a good reflection of the state of ZEQ2 as it were based on the Quake 3 version and 2005 documentation.

Enjoy.

What is the password? please Wink

Why don't you share old version? To know the history of ZEQ2

feels like you're looking at a sceret site or a site never meant to be viewed
feels like you're going back in time to the early 2000s
where games were only games and they delivered just that

Quake 3 Forever

It's a typical of antivirus software overshooting. Detecting processes that are being run that aren't necessarily viruses.

I didn't share anything. If I hadn't been without internet for the last few days this would have been resolved instantly as well. The htaccess on that domain was modified to allow full access rather than directory viewing disabled as it should have been.

And no, your antivirus/browser isn't misfiring on the warnings. Several of the html files have been injected with additional javascript calls to malware/data collection processes.

I've since repaired the htaccess file to disable indexes, but I don't mind opening them up on certain directories. Full directory listing was NOT intended though and again was the result of malicious intentions.

It wasn't his intention to make this stuff public.

More importantly, I have no idea what the password is. Dave nor anyone else can remember either. I'll have to consult the logs.

Zeth why not releasing Quake3-ZEQ2 with ioquake3? it is a pity that you guys have worked years for nothing. It would be nice to know the history of ZEQ.

I think you misunderstand.

The Quake 3 version of ZEQ2 is what ZEQ2-lite IS. That version on the server is the same thing as ZEQ2-lite except MUCH older and much less advanced/completed with older assets.

ZEQ2 evolved to the Zios engine after Quake 3. New media/design documents were made, but no build was created outside of tech demos.

---

The labeling of "ZEQ2" has changed meaning over the course of time. Essentially the 3rd incarnation is what is currently released and available. Since it was not the latest version/engine/plans/media/etc., it was provided under the "lite" labeling to denote its distinction between the most recent ZEQ2 incarnation. If the Bid For Power mod or Quake 3 mod versions were ever released, they'd go through equal treatment of receiving a suffix to denote their difference.

ZEQ2 [2002-2003] = Bid For Power Mod
ZEQ2 [2003-2005] = Quake 3 Mod
ZEQ2 [2005-2006] = Quake 3 Game (released as ZEQ2-lite)
ZEQ2 [2007-20xx] = Zios Research Project
