I have another suggestion that could be implemented.

The reason I have such a knowlodge about the Quake 3 engine is because I spent a lot of time working with Jedi Academy mods.

A feature that was used in Jedi Academy was a PvP Duel system. basically, you would look at the person you want to challenge, hit a key, and it asks them to challange. The other player would have to hit the key to accept the challenge and then no other player(s) could harm them.

Not sure if that has come up before. But I'm sure it would become a useful feature in future releases

The Jedi Knight series came along about almost a decade before World of Warcraft with a duel system. Not only that, but games years before it have used it as well. It may be similar, sure, but just be sure not to misappropriate it's source or influence.

As for implementation of this, it'd be a cakewalk probably taking no more than 30 minutes or so. Not sure how practical it'd be as core feature, but as a gameplay option server-side I suppose it might not be a bad thing to toss in for flexible measure. It's been suggested and discussed in the past during ZEQ2's reign, but completely dismissed do to the accuracy nature of the original project. Since the guidelines governing ZEQ2's design don't directly impact ZEQ2-lite, it's feasibility becomes legitimate again.

Out of curiosity, I wonder if maybe it could be put into it's own match type(or set as a toggle option when setting up the server), so when setting up a server it's there if you want it, and not if you don't? Or would that be too much extra work to limit the option to a match type/server setting?

Either way though, I don't really see this as that major of a feature. As it stands right now, if you're hosting the server, and someone keeps interfering with your duel, you can always just kick them, and if it's not your server, arrange with your dueling partner to jump over to a private server, where you can be left alone... I like the idea as a different game type if it can be added by bending the acuracy rule ? but like it is more suitable for adventure large maps not in zeq2lite Razz where we come across man players and challenge them or do a ofencive even if they do not acept the offer of a duel Razz

ZEQ2-lite only intends to have one traditional "game-type" although there will be a large number of options to alter general play. There's no real point in limiting a particular feature to just a game-type altogether.
