Homeworld is legendary. As for Nexus, I can't complete the game -.- That mission, with thousands and thousands of mechanoids, and that wormhole, is just too hard. And Starlancer, is it really better then Freelancer? The Story in freelancer is just amazing.

The presentation is way better. Unlike freelancer it's not open space roleplay. You are a recruit fighting in a war. And they let you know it.

It features everything from propaganda style news clips showing how the war is progressing on other fronts down to dropping names of ace pilots you get to meed it some missions. The whole between mission part consists of the interior of the ship you are on as you walk from your room to the briefing area and depending on your rank the people you meet in the hallway react differently. You allso have chances to destroy opponents during missions, and if you destroy a capital ship earlier in the game, it won't be there towards the end to bug you *intense laughter*

Its just greatly thought out. Although linear and has next to no roleplay the whole presentation is way better than freelancer ever was. Simply because it gives you the feeling that you are part of something bigger and not the center of the universe like in freelancer.

Nexus - that's the mission before the last one. it's the toughest thing round. I managed to beat it by equiping the angelwing with shield busters and used the rest of my ships to siege laser the enemy as they arrived. I also saved that gorg dude, so I had 2 siege laser ships shooting anything that moved. I barely made it. Compared to this one the final mission is a walk in the park though. Its more of an epilogue than a boss fight. Especially since you are 1 on 1 with no shields against a vardrag ship.
Needles to say the easiest way to kill it is to disable its engines so it gets pulled into the blackhole *intense laughter*

It depends on the player. As said it's not a free roam game. Its a mission based game that drops you into a mission and takes you home at the end. Its just the presentation of everything that makes it better in my book. That and it's the cold war set in space. The whole Alliance VS Coalition thing is awesome :p

Not to mention carrier ships play a bigger role in the game than in freelancer.

Black Ops (1st fish best), Modern Warfare 2 (2nd fish best)

Quake 3 Arena + Team Arena + some mods

Red Alert 2 + 3

Assasins Creed 1+2+3 =D

the OLD Budokai 3 =)

The civilization games baby!!

And yes Shadow of the Colossus and it's predecessor Ico aren't bad either.

Okami was artistically very well done.

Chrono Trigger for an RPG.

Rise of Nations or Age of Mythology for a RTS.

Can't think of any other that really stood out to me.

Oh yes, RoN is one of the best RTS games I've ever seen. That Rise of Legends is just awful when comparing it to original RoN. Total War series aren't bad RTS as well, but in my opinion Rome TV is better then these new ones.

I never tried the total war series so I wouldn't know. It seemed like a bit of a strange mix to me, with the 3D person view.

In any case if you haven't yet already, try Civilization 3-5. Nothing beats the feeling of taking over the world. The game is on an epic scope that RTS games just can't reach, accept for Rise of Nations which had that take over the world mode too.
