as the title says post 3D stuff made by you on any 3D software

note :

 1: mention the softwares that you used
2: how to make it ( optional )
3: give use full crits only
4: don't post fanatical enthusiastic young child stuff like "good , release , very goodmate etc) only post if you can help by crits or post you're own work )
5:don't start arguments here

this thread is not for personal opinions or personal issues , its just for showing work and sharing you're knowledge with others on the work that you do



here are a bit of my experiments I did a few months ago
software : 3ds max objects / effects
photo shop : textures

YOU may also share your knowledge about various methods used in 3D soft wares and give crits

Never model a head from a sphere, the side and front of the head really make a sharp angle so a box is more suited for this. You only need to make it round in certain parts.

I suggest you get some good refs for the head and body and try to lay the vertices specifically on the contours.

Right now it just looks like a human, but not necessarily Tenshinhan.

So make a plane with the proportions of your image ref and add your ref image as a texture, then put that plane behind the model and you're good to go.

finally figured the bump map my self Very Happy , I could google it but there would be no use , in the process of finding it I found many other features too , so here is the result , I think I over did it here but that can be changed later on , the top part isn't bumped

I gave a shot on zbrush , today for the first time I made a model in zbrush using the zsphere after following a 10hr long video tutorial , this is 100% from scratch and by me , noting great , its a wip , I was trying to make a human topology but figured that I'm better at making alien cyborg topology Razz , so I will continue on working on this in the coming days , this is just the base which is to be sclupted when ready , the next stages will be ,

1: detailing & finalizing the base with a proper head , hands and feet
2: sculpting
3: texturing ( if I can )
4: render with v-ray in max

are are some screens of it from different angles and with different shaders

SOFTWARE : Z-BRUSH
character: a alien semi semi mechanical cyborg prototype , it consists of flesh and metal , with the pipes going in its body carrying articially created living energy cells as can bee seen in the picture , it's not so clear at the moment but as soon as it will be sculpted , the scene will get clearer

NOTE : if you don't get what it is , then wait for updates and don't flame me about it
