acctually I think he means portals like there were in the original quake3 Razz I think it would be great if we could enter hyperbolic time chamber from kamis lookout ^^

but there would have to be some kind of 2 skyboxes or something, or just 2 maps separated by a wall (for example, 1 under the other, not visible) and the portal would just warp us to other place Smile

mcgrass are you working on this because I don't know how
anyway if you are or anyone is or if its already working
it would be nice if you put it in the maps on the svn
like the Namek houses you could put portals on them they can stay the same size on the top but should be bigger on the other side of the portal
heeeey we can have a better clan map now

just gave it a shot , guys it's not difficult , if you have basic 3dsmax material mapping capabilities you can find these options , we use the normal bump then apply noise on it

No, that's not how you do it. Please don't hijack my thread, I don't want other people showing their work here.

Also please get back on topic guys, if you want to discuss Earth Special Forces maps or whatever, please create another topic.

but I still got the results : P , well you can tell us the proper way , I used this tech because I was thinking it might work as it worked with the water effect

You didn't get the results, that looks nothing like a model with a proper bump map.

I'm actually working on something again!

Decided to re-make the hospital. I originally started out with the basic square design but then I started to screw around and managed to get the shape in the pictures below.

Still have to more to add, but I figured I'd take a break right now and show some pictures.

Pictures of my ****thank you looking roof will be shown once I figure out what I did to the model to make it look all weird in the renderer.

Instead, I'm showing something I did a few months ago that I completely forgot about! It was mainly a UVW/texturing test, but I figure I might as well just show it here anyways.

Oh yeah and ignore the edge in the middle above the door. I was originally planning to do something with it, but after deciding not to I forgot to remove it.

Made a terrain to test something out. Figured I'd put it up for download so you guys can use it for learning purposes.

Things to note:

  • UVW Maps are a mess
  • Cliffs aren't wielded to eachother
  • Cliffs aren't detailed
  • This was rushed
  • 3dsmax 2012 is required to open the file
  • If you're going to use this for anything, please credit me

Again a reason I keep telling people to stop using third-party hosting. Links expire, files can be removed, and they essentially control your content in all aspects. At least by attaching here, your files are ensured reachable (barring unforeseeable catastrophes).

I posted that last year, how did you not notice it until now?...

Anyways, I'm pretty sure I still have the file, but I'm not going to upload it again because the model is bad. If anyone else has it and wants to upload it for whatever reason, feel free to do so.
