Wow I was watching some youtube vidoes of Earth Special Forces... I saw omega shenron fighting Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and all but the graphics pretty much reminded me of a tenkaichi game... I also saw a guy make a wish and he becaome kid Goku with Super Saiyan 3 and golden ape and everything. Does anyone think that Earth Special Forces is making more progress than ZEQ2? I mean nowa days most game creaters focus on how it looks rather than how it plays... I mean both game are good and all but I saw that Earth Special Forces had multiple knock back animations and different combos... a combo couter or damage counter w.e and grabbing and spinning/ throwing your opponent. also cracks from body impact on walls and floors. *laughing out loud* itd be kind of cool if the games merged so we had their game play with our graphics *laughing out loud*!
What are some other opinions on this?

You cannot compare Earth Special Forces to ZEQ2-Lite.

dude what the heck ? how can you compare Earth Special Forces and zeq2lite ? they are 2 different projects with different goals , zeq2lite could have been even more fancy , but the developers do not want it to be , zeq2lite is supposed to be close to the anime not to be a eye candy super fancy game ,and the after / before release does not matter , the goals of the projects matter
PLEASE SEE THIS LINK http://ZEQ2.com/lite/?page_id=2

okay prepare for a rant.
Firstly. it's not a contest. We do our stuff and the guys over here do their stuff. We have different goals for the projects and we have different methods of reaching those goals.
Secondly. What you saw was not Earth Special Forces. Earth Special Forces never had and never will have characters from movies, gooey insides or Dragon Ball GT. We are not adding that to our game. What you did see was ECX. ECX is an addon for Earth Special Forces created by people who were at the time not related to Earth Special Forces in the slightest. And ECX has the ability to add different characters to the game if you code them in with AMXX a lot easier than doing it manually to Earth Special Forces directly. that's probably what you saw in that video.
Thirdly. You say updates and advancements with tenkaichi graphics and that makes me believe you don't know what you are talking about. Earth Special Forces 1.2.3 (meaningECX and its addons) has the GFX style on Half Life 1. Its a bit better quality because everything is scaled down, but its still nowhere near that of tenkaichi. Earth Special Forces final has GFX improvements past the engines limitations (much like ZEQ2 lite bas better graphics than Quake 3) and this is what it looks like (again nothing like tenkaichi).

As for your question. No I don't think Earth Special Forces is beating ZEQ2 lite because (and here is a sports comparrison) we are playing basketball while ZEQ2 lite is playing football. Meaning no team can come out on top because its a different sport. It only boils down to what you prefer.

Bump! From the teasers I saw of the New Earth Special Forces mêlée system, it looks really good. But ZEQ2-Lite is still its own thing like you guys have said. ZEQ2-Lite looks more anime style, while Earth Special Forces looks like Dragon Ball Z looking more realistic. I suppose you can't really compare the two...but from what I saw Earth Special Forces looks way cooler, animations are much smoother, the mêlée system looks cool (but I don't know how great it would work)... Not to say ZEQ2 isn't good, but Earth Special Forces just seems better.... we'll know for sure I guess when The new Earth Special Forces get's released...Can't WAIT!

*face palm x9000* Why not? They're fighting games, based on Dragon Ball Z, for pc... Seriously, I don't see why not...
Who cares if they're different games with different goals? For example Mafia II and Grand Theft Auto 4 have more differences than these 2 yet people are still comparing both...
EDIT: Anyways, what's wrong with comparing? :/

Well , you have to pay money for Earth Special Forces(because you have to buy half life on steam). But honestly, I was impressed by their mêlée sys, graphics and everything..

I agree with esfer25. Comparing games based on similar things is something to be quite expected and can lead to interesting discussions.

I said Earth Special Forces at its point in development seems better, I didn't say it was flat out better. Just the look and quality of Earth Special Forces is more appealing to me, but that's just an opinion, I haven't played the new Earth Special Forces so I still can't be the judge of both games. They're too different to really compare.
LOOK IT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrKl-RqzbGA&NR=1
BUT. I stand by my previous statement, Earth Special Forces seems to be looking better. Character models, mêlée system (from what I have seen), effects, sound effects look better...maybe not the soundtrack, I love ZEQ2's soundtrack.

I do not agree , these 2 games cannot be compared , firstly they are not ment to be the same , they maybe both fighting games , but their goals and systems are totally different , fish and bbc can be compared , they are exactly the same , crysis and fish cannot be compared , both a fps but of a different kind , in the same way , Earth Special Forces and zeq2lite and both Dragon Ball based and fighting games but of 2 different natures , plus the developers them self state that a comparison is not possible unless the goals are similar

I guess once don't hurt, right?
Comparing ZEQ2 Lite from Earth Special Forces is quite a heavy one, urrr, where should I start?
I've tried Earth Special Forces, and do I congratulate on such a heavy modification of Half-Life, I just find one thing that kills some of the gameplay.
TEXTURES
Instead of using a seperate cel-shade brand, they decide to blend the texture with the cel-shade, outcoming a HORRIBLE result, just glad the Final version slips that off the list.
ZEQ2 Lite, a great game! And I'm not just saying this because I play it, because such an engine as Quake 3 to be imported into a Dragon Ball Z feelish game (with the help of Bid For Power) it's truly hard work!
I'd have to admit Earth Special Forces is beating us... but then the tables can turn as quick as light.
Uhhh, by saying this, I'm going to have to think heavily about something...

Since nobody is reading Grega's post I am locking the topic up. Reason? Football and basketball teams can't be compared.
