Hi all, I'm new here and just started with ZEQ2 Lite this past week, so I decided to create an account, but I have a bit of a problem. I've seen some of the Avatars that some of you have, and am I right to see that those are custom? Anyway, if they are, I would like to know if you have to be good to make avatars like that. I tried using GIMP to make my own, and it doesn't look as good as others. Is it my own uninformed participating experience the problem? I also plan to learn how to do all of these addons, but I just feel weird with such a terrible avatar.

You can ask someone who does like Zielan, Ivan, Raging-Blast, TRL, or maybe even me. Welcome to the forums

I tried using GIMP to make my own, and it doesn't look as good as others. I'd recommend you use Photoshop or paint.net.
Is it my own uninformed participating experience the problem? Making avatars isn't as hard as you think once you learn the basics. Have you tried using tutorials?

use Photoshop CS3, there is a 30 day trial (even if I have full version *intense laughter*)
I make mine with that..

GIMP is a perfect tool to make avatars, I made all my avatars with GIMP and they all turned out perfect. You just need to know how to use it.
I recommend you search YouTube a bit for a few tutorials and then you will be alright.

Thanks, I am not that much of an artist, but I can learn how to use things pretty quickly. It's just that... most of the posts that I saw in the Addons forum were members with a custom avatar, and I didn't want to look like someone "who doesn't know any better."
I look for tutorials when I have no clue what to do with any kind of tool.
