Nello, there is a time to say "Good job!" And there's a time to say, "Here's a ref, change this just a tad."

Gigirs already knows his work is good, and I don't see any need to praise him when he's already got a good amount of confidence in his abilities.

The best way to help him do better work is to point out the flaws, otherwise there's a chance he'll end up with a good addon-status character instead of an SVN-status character.

Anyway, I suppose you could argue that everyone needs encouragement, so think what you like if you don't accept my explanation.

You know, gigirs has the tendency of not liking crits and always directly saying "yes I know".

You should know that crits is not people saying they don't like it. It's actually a reminder of what you may already know and the more people say the same thing after a quick first view the more confirmation you have of what may be wrong.

Even the most inexperienced person can intuitevely see at a first glance if something is "wrong". The more people repeat the same thing, the more you should accept it, not fight it.

Because in the end that's all what matters if you make something of art right? How it is perceived by others, your work of art.
