After the loss of members to TKN fiasco, the |ERS| clan is back with a vengeance!

Presenting an early preview Ambient Occulsion WIP of our clan HQ based inside the outpost on planet N79.

A few questions.
1. I don't have the Dragon Ball Z anime. Any screenshots of the interiors of the outpost and of the planet are much appreciated (post here or if there are too many add them in the reference forum)
2. How do I make doors that open when the player approaches them. (I've seen this in the space map featuring frieza's ship)
3. Will bump maps be visible ingame?
4. How do I make transparent windows.
5. How do I make operational elevators.

Request
While opinions and suggestions are welcome, this is my first map (the last one was a cylinder with 1 inch layer of water that obliterated my shader file)

*small edit - it was N79 not N97 Confused

Bubble windows - Not all are done - I need references for the back and the side (see post w.are.t that below)

That's a good start. Unfortunately, I don't own the anime, either, and googling for it doesn't give that many good results that either aren't copies of each other, or "these are not the [pictures] you're looking for."

Well it will eventually be released for ZEQ2 lite, and no I won't be pasting ERS posters all over. I'll put them in as part of easter eggs. (there'll be a LOT of those)

Fact is that there's a lot of real estate to go around.
Once the exterior is complete and the interior work begins, while most of the interior will be built true to any screenshots I might find,
there are several additional rooms planned (like a trophy room for the ZEQ 2 lite trophy), barracks, mess hall, hanger for space pods.etc.
Most of the interior area's will be large enough to fly in, with enough clutter to hide around in.
So what you'll see won't be just eye candy Wink

The planet itself is huge, so there's a lot of development there. Most of it would be destroyed architecture from planet Kanassa and an underground cave network.
(I think it's the same as planet frieza?)

Many of the interior rooms will be developed with member input, like Eleven's office.

This is also my first level design project. (most of my work so far has been restricted to props)

Well good luck on that. Remember we will support you all the way (except those darn fearsome creatures [Nabako not being one of them, sorry RealDeal Rolling Eyes ] and flamers).

Your clan is one of the few I truly respect. TKN's strong, but lacks proper management and admirable leadership.

Yeah, that's all I, and possibly the team, wanted. Easter eggs are my FAVORITE Very Happy !!! It really shows signature on the mappers part.

Sounds like a Radiant mover entity. You could ask Toebi or google around for some guides on the subject.

3. Will bump maps be visible ingame?


Not currently supported, but you can always bake them if you don't mind a non-dynamic solution. However, the ambient occlusion lighting can be supported by baking it into vertex colors in max and then using multiple passes in your shader.

4. How do I make transparent windows.


Use an alpha layer/texture.

5. How do I make operational elevators.


Again, movers. Likely with a switch/trigger.

Hi Zeth, I've pm'd Toebi about the mover entity.
What about collision detection for clutter objects. Like in Elder scrolls oblivion, the clutter can be displaced around the room.
Is that possible using Radiant?

Its over 9000!
But seriously at the moment it keeps changing since I'm adding more detail.
When I optimize it it should be lowered considerably, but I'm making sure that its all quads, so smoothing is uneventful.
How much should the optimal count be anyway?

A Little bit of History..

Cold Family.. are space pirates.. they invade planets and destroy all the Living Creatures of it.. then sell it to the other parties
(Similar to Swat Cats story of Space Pirates when they come on Earth and take the water away and TBone and Razor saves the day (Ah some good memories))

Freeza came to planet Vegeta and saw that the Saiyan's were just a bunch of brain dead Monkeys with great powers ,no proper leadership and easily conquerable. And thus the Saga continues..

So this is not really Cold Family's own stuff.. they took it from someone else.

by the way Goku's Story of sending in a space pod to earth at the same time planet Vegeta gets destroyed. Goku becomes a super being on earth.. earth's defender This is so much similar to Superman Story.

I guess the Anime creator saw a lot of cartoons

Anyone have additional pictures of the outpost? The three pictures I have (of the front and what I think is the back of the palace and one shot that pans from the base make no sense,
I.e
front doesn't match the back
the 3rd picture is missing a tower.
one window keeps shifting.
don't know if the windows are hemispheres, or ovals

Seems Akira Toriyama had difficulty drawing in perspective, or three different people drew it.

(I make have to improvise if no other references are available)
