I still say saints row the third is better than Grand Theft Auto IV because I can customize my character and the controls are easier to adapt to. Also, at the beginning of the game they put you in the heat of the moment. Where as in Grand Theft Auto you have to play through the boring missions first and then get to the good stuff.

I say Grand Theft Auto because it feels more like a mafia game.

Grand Theft Auto, more freedom ( in a better city) and story is better. Saint's row is trash, like the other games tried to face against Grand Theft Auto like Driver and Street Crime.

Driver is older than the 3D GTAs. If anything GTA3 was a combination of the Driver series cuppled with Grand Theft Auto.
As for the storyline. I prefer the Saints Row storyline. Though this is only my experience with Saints Row 1 and 2. I have yet to meet number 3.
But if the story is anything like the first 2, then it beats GTAs generic story hands down.
Not to mention it has better jokes. "This place is great, but needs a stripper pole" *intense laughter*

Finally someone agrees on my standpoint. Also, Grega I played it last night with a friend and from the very beginning its funny and epic. Better than saints row 1 & 2.

some missions were difficult though

Plus no checkpoints made a bit more frustrating, luckily Expansion pack did

Having a girlfriend in the game that requires a crapload of subquests = redundant but ill leave that alone for the fan service.
Having to go bowling and discomforting calls from people was both boring and discomforting.

If I get the need to socialize I do so with PEOPLE, not game characters. Now when AI gets advanced enough to mimic human behavior then and only then will I have a vague interest in socializing with a computer.
If I play a game I don't want to have to play its mini games just so I can unlock extra content. Especially since the game forces you to continue playing those mini games in order to keep that content unlocked. Because if you start to ignore those calls, your reputation with the caller drops and all those unlocks you gained earlier though the same pointless mini game series over and over will be gone.
That my friend is a TERRIBLE design idea for a game. Forcing anything on to the player is always a bad idea. Be it the same unskipable cut scene, a mini game where you just have to bash 1 button as fast as you can or forcing your character to eat every 10 friggin minutes or else his health would start to drop (yes I'm looking at you Grand Theft Auto:SA).

I liked saints row better
partly because I like making my own character instead of being nico(slightly beautimus ) plus saints row is outreageous I mean a banana weapon? and that's not even a quarter of the crazy stuff not even 1/18th
but as a more serious type of game grand theft auto wins
it depends on how you like your open-worlders

Then you know very little about women.
And I'm not saying to remove those missions, I'm saying not to give a penalty to the player if he doesn't want to bother with them more than needed for the unlocks they give.
Honestly if I ever saw Roman outside a cinematic I would blow his brains out >.<

I like saitns row 3 , but meh why can't they have physics like gta4 ? I know that its taxing on the CPU , gta4 had a pretty advanced physics engine , we can feel it and its shown in a video as well , compared to a normal physics engine like the one used in saints row 3 , saints row 3 still gives a weird feeling in cars and gta4 rocked in that department , even though gta4 had less interesting missions , only cursing in the city with mods n cheats is entertaining for me
